No disrespect to Belarus intended, but is there activity on the scene going to be helpful or more problems for Russia? They don't have the best military.

Good question. In terms of the invasion, it's a minor development, just more numbers and more problems for Ukraine, which had enough as it was. I do think this increases the chances of incidents on the western frontier of Ukraine somewhat, although it also allows any such "incidents" to be with Belarus and not Russia, so that might mitigate it somewhat.
In terms of internal stability it is probably not ideal for Lukashenko if things go badly for his forces, but in the big picture, he's going to be able to claim a victory for his military. The vise is really starting to clamp down. The bravery and guts of the Ukrainians is admirable and it's imposing some real costs, but every day the strategic situation gets worse and if it ends in a victory, it's not going to cause any domestic problems for Lukashenko.
I'm looking at it as a sideshow in a circus that already had plenty of rings cranked up to 11.
