Basically any nato country claims to go in alone ,will not be separated in Putins eyes. It will simply be a nato interference and war on a larger scale. I seriously doubt he would consider conventional weapons either. But full nuclear response. The west are playing a dangerous game of risks and bluffs. And Putins in no position to take chances. His patience is to thin now.

I already want to pimp slap the idiots who let the pest of a CNN reporter show the 3000 troops from our 82nd airborne on the base in Poland way too close to the Ukrainian border all bunched up in tents just waiting to be killed by a barrage of Russian cruise missiles. It might take 8 cruise missiles to kill every last one of them.

A very stupid move by our military. They are just all bunched up on one corner of the base with no protection if anything makes it through. Nice white heated tents sitting side by side! I think they are trying to dare Russia to attack or they are just truly that dam dumb. 30 miles away from Ukraine at best.

Given what the 82nd can do to those piss poor trained Russian troops Putin has to see them as a major threat!

Hey Rudemarine....
Yeah reporters can be as dumb as cold cat feces, I used to be one........

Anybody here ever consider..... with all thats going on any thoughts of what a birds eye view we are giving China of our operational tempo, logistics, and the entire picture of our projecting power....... I say this because of comments and speculation in another thread about how the French may have deployed the majority of their boomers ahead of tomorrow's meeting.....if the Chinese are smart... and they have a reputation of not being stupid , then they got to have some boats in the Med, others in the Atlantic and probably their OI and ELINT guys are working overtime watching how this unfolds.....it gives them a good view not only into what the US does but also in watching a number of NATO countries go to alert levels and operation tempos that have not been seen for a while.....only thing we have yet to see...is the Tic Tacs....
Regards.....

Well, the French situation just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Yea right--If you believe that one, I have some ocean front in Arizona for sale. I don't see Putin backing down, so there's a strong likely hood this could get real tense, especially if the nato meeting go as I figure they will go. We all know that answer already. Better be stocked and ready--it could be a rough ride.
Agree about Putin, not so much nato change. SIMPLE SOLUTION. Nato says no. Now if a nato country chooses to leave nato , until officially finalised no individual-independant action is acceptable. Until we get our shit together. 🤣😂🤣

Nato says no. What I hope for as well.

Well we could go back to flinging Greek fire and decomposing dead animals over the walls of the city with trebuchets to burn them out and cause disease outbreak.
It is not realistic to judge or value the means of war if you were not engaged in that war.

We say we could have blockaded Japan and what starve them to death? The leaders will still eat and refuse to surrender and the children will starve. Or we could have continued the bombing campaign which was already killing more than the bombs did in one day.
We could have waited for the Russians to join the fight then we could have had a partitioned Japan like Germany and Korea.

We’re talking about engaging in a war to kill and subjugate an other people.
Whatever works to end it as fast and most economically that will minimize your own nations loses.
Those are the rules when people start dying.

Understand. 😕🙈🙉🙊😅

The scenario of using a tactical nuclear weapon I think is starting to look very possible. The West repeats to Putin, you can't win this war. If you defeat Ukraine, you cannot occupy it, because we are going to mount the resistance and permanent and expanded sanctions will devastate the Russian economy. If a deal is reached by taking Crimea, Donbass and neutrality, sanctions will remain at the same level as they are now, which is also bad for Russia. The image of the Russian army has been destroyed, it is no longer seen as a threat to conventional power by NATO troops. Russia, to reassert its power, only had its atomic weapons. It is no wonder that this week the Russians are increasingly talking about their nuclear arsenal and the US and NATO are discussing how to react to the use of a tactical nuclear weapon.

maybe letting theirselves be seen there to bait the russians then move to a smarter location?

The Ukrainians attacked the port of Berdyansk. In addition to a fire and explosions, it appears that an Alligator-class landing ship has sunk. But it needs confirmations. But importantly, the Russians were operating undisturbed in this port. This port was serving to send reinforcements to attack Mariupol.

The ship that exploded is the Orsk. Confirmed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Hey Soldier1985. Interesting news report. Can you provide the forum a link or links to where you got this? Would be helpful. Thanks.

Saw this on the other thread. Disregard what I posted and thanks for crossing it here....

I would just remind you that the whole Russian/Chinese alliance was based on the fact that Russia give China protection in exchange for helping Russia's economy. Most experts put Russia 10-20 years ahead of China in military regards. I think all China sees now is there is no way they could take Taiwan. At least not for another 50 years. Especially since they see they can't rely on Russia. Not to mention amphibious landings are so much more difficult.

i'm having doubt if they are ukrainians civilians. One of the woman that were struggling inserting a mag, the instructor spoke to her in english, and one of the perfect has both Ukrainian and polish flag in her arm patch
More than likely, these are volunteers from outside of Ukraine being formed up and trained. Some of them look like they have handled a weapon before and have a strong military demeanor about them.

Kind gentlemen, do we know something about that idea of peace enforcement mission into Ukraine, which should have to be decided today? Has Poland actually proposed it?

I agree that it is becoming more and more likely for a lot of the reasons you listed. I will add, that Putin has to know that if he does stop and decides to settle for just the Donbass and Crimea areas, that there is no way that he or Russia will be allowed back at the table for global discussions. Russia's place, especially if Putin remains in power, is diminished on the world stage. It has to be if any of it means anything any more. There are going to be war crimes waiting on him and all that goes with that. I think he knows this and may be playing out his end game scenario. That makes him dangerous I think.
