Canada aims to announce around 10 founding countries for a proposed global Defence, Security and Resilience Bank at the Ankara NATO summit.
The bank would seek to raise up to £100 billion, or $133 billion, in low cost financing for allied defence.
COULD BE because Finland closed the border first then refused to reopen it on June 4th indefinitely as I reported on June 4th:Russia has closed rail checkpoints on the borders of Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. No warning; no explanation. Also, Russia is building military infrastructure along its borders with Northern Europe and the Baltics.

Russia is building military infrastructure along its borders with Northern Europe, Baltics
Russia is actively building new military infrastructure along its borders with the Nordic and Baltic countries and plans...www.lrt.lt
Finland’s Interior Ministry says the Government has renewed the closure of eastern border crossing points with Russia. The decision, made June 4, keeps the crossings closed until further notice. Finland says the risk of renewed Russian instrumentalized migration remains likely if the crossings reopen.
Not surprising, given how Russia feels about NATO encroachment. Still, a notable development.Russia is building military infrastructure along its borders with Northern Europe and the Baltics.
More information, sounds like it was expected by FinlandCOULD BE because Finland closed the border first then refused to reopen it on June 4th indefinitely as I reported on June 4th:
Also the "random" border closures where first reported by @Snowfall then I followed up with the original sources. Pretty sure it was yesterday. Now that I think about it. Don't think I tagged staff. Woops.
Oh yea. Like I said. Finland already closed its border in most places with Russia the beginning of last month (June 4th). So. Naturally Russia is doing the same. Surprised it took them a month to respond in-kind though.sounds like it was expected by Finland
The original version of the telegraph article this all stems from came out in Onet on June 30th, it is substantially less definitive then the one in the telegraph, which is interesting considering they are written by the same person, cite the same sources, and the telegraph’s parent company owns Onet. It appears the telegraph article is effectively a clickbait version of the original because the original did not generate much attention.
Polish PM Donald Tusk said Poland is preparing for multiple scenarios after reports that U.S. allies warned Warsaw of possible Russian armed provocations meant to test NATO’s resolve.
Reported scenarios include drone or missile strikes on critical infrastructure, simulated air attacks, or a limited border incident involving Russian or Belarusian personnel.

Germany’s cabinet approved a package of defence readiness measures, including a Reserve Strengthening Act, a Bundeswehr infrastructure acceleration bill, and updates to emergency/provisioning laws for crisis situations up to a defence case.
Berlin says the measures are aimed at strengthening reserve availability, speeding military infrastructure, and improving civil military support for German and allied forces.
