This is a bit of a misleading one, it's the same attack that was carried out a few days still causing disruptions. Not a fresh attack.
He further states “NATO militaries are trained to assess such threats and determine whether they can escort Russian planes out of allied territory or take further action.” meaning no change to the status quo.
I found the original source on this. In 2022 days before the invasion of Ukraine Poland’s government enacted a restriction that only allowed them to use their armed forces abroad after asking NATO or the EU for permission. In April of this year the polish government’s commission on the study of Russian influenced learned about this and began the process to remove this. In June this proposal was submitted that would allow them to use forces abroad when necessary in accordance with the U.N. charter on self defense. The change was driven out of the findings of the commission’s report and NOT because of the recent influx of drone activity.
