TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces completed an additional round of strikes against Iran, July 8, to further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. forces struck approximately 90 Iranian military targets including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coastline. The latest strikes follow successful execution of offensive strikes in Iran the night before.

The IRGC claimed it targeted U.S. military infrastructure and facilities at Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, as well as Juffair and Sheikh Isa in Bahrain, using missiles and drones.

Al Jazeera Arabic reports the IRGC described the attacks as a “first phase” punitive response and threatened broader strikes on other U.S. bases if the U.S. repeats attacks on Iran.

Iranian state TV said the Tehran Mashhad railway line was temporarily halted before Khamenei’s funeral in Mashhad.

Al Jazeera Arabic reports Iran’s rail operator blamed a “criminal U.S. Israeli enemy attack” on the route and said repair teams were dispatched.
