Denuclearization talks between the U.S. and Iran are on hold for a week as the Iranian government prepares a funeral for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran, the capital. The funeral is expected to last from July 4 to July 9.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday the United States would either reach a deal with Iran or "finish the job," eliciting threats from officials in the Islamic Republic. "We're either going to make a deal or we're going to finish the job. OK. And it won't be tough to finish the job. I'd rather make a deal, because I don't want to affect 91 million people," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
"We can knock down their bridges in one hour, we can knock out their energy supply...they don't have any money now. We haven't given them any money," he added.
The senior American official told me that the US Army's attacks in Iran tonight were four or five times more extensive and more powerful than the recent attacks carried out about 10 days ago.

I don't think it's really "Tit-for Tat." The US appears to be able to strike iran at will and they haven't been able to hit a US ship yet, that I know of. And a ship is a pretty big target. IMO
Iran launched an immediate retaliatory strike against US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain shortly after coming under a large-scale US airstrike.
According to Reuters and other outlets, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on the 8th that “the IRGC Navy and Aerospace Force jointly conducted missile and drone operations, striking 85 US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain.” Kuwait hosts the US Army, while Bahrain is home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet. The IRGC also claimed to have shot down one US MQ-9 drone.
