I don't think you will like what comes from that!
Yea waves and waves of immigrants/refugees flooding the American border. Instability and war in South America ALWAYS = flood of migrants to America. EVERY FLIPPIN DANM TIME............

➡️Americans always fail to realize IF THEY DO NOT WANT IMMIGRANTS OR REFUGEES we need to take better care of OR see to it South America is stable. Otherwise we will never, ever, ever, ever solve our migrant problems.

If South American's didn't need to flee instability or civil war all the damn time they would have no reason to come to US of A.....

But this is off topic and happy to start new thread based off off topic discussion I just started.

So now america is supposed to take care of Latin American? How about just have a consistent boarder and deportation policy. Instead of throwing our hands in the air and say it’s an insurmountable problem.

As far as this just being some organic migration of illegal migrants.

Just the proposition alone that poor refugees fleeing their destitute third world nations are able in their poverty stricken state. Are able to cross multiple nations boarder and oceans only to arrive in southern Mexico. Then to face a thousand mile trek through the Mexican criminal underworld. Then to pay coyotes to aid them in crossing the southern boarder.
Yeah that’s just laughable.

You know way boarder crossings are down. Because the state department cut funding to NGO that facilitated the illegal migrants.

Border is to big to secure entirely.

More instability in South America (in general) simply means more migration and refugees crossing the border into America no matter what the heck you do, spend, build, or threaten.

So. We either make sure South America is MILDLY stable enough or keep dealing with the same old issues with a flood at the border, again & again, no matter how much money or troops you throw at the border to keep them out.

Fuck party politics. This is cause and effect. Full stop. Not sorry this doesn't fit anyone's political narrative.

And I mean anyone's narrative as the left US administrations have done no better to keep stability in South America, just as much as the right US administrations.

👉(100% sad ass fact)... both political factions in US just flat up ignore South America and it's instability. It is the root cause of migrant/refugee issues.

And no I am not saying give a blank check to South America. And if you think that from reading my post you need help an been entirely blindsided by your party politics.

Making sure South America is stable enough that it's not on fire and people in the millions do not want to flee their situation doesn't require massive aid or blank checks. 🤦‍♀️

Though hypocritically enough from me.... I still believe we need to stop Venezuela leader to protect our energy interests AND my base logic is if aloud to spiral will make for even greater instability in South America down the road if we do not take action now/soon as Venezuela leader is threatening war with its neighbors which gods knows where that would lead.

DN I respect your opinion but what your proposing is we stabilize all of Latin america because that is easier than controlling the boarder?

Yes I agree we need to do things to stabilize Latin america, that’s a given I won’t argue that. But just as controlling the boarder alone is not sufficient. Neither is pumping endless money into South American regimes alone sufficient to stemming this tide.

An important part of this is influencing and improving the condition of Latin Americans is fighting the narcostate nations like Venezuela, Columbia and Mexico.

It’s also having an honest conversation about our immigration laws. Change the quotas system and process that reflects an economic viability for immigrants coming here on work visa. As well as job availability for American citizens.
Create a culture that respects this process. Rather than one that makes criminals out of so many from the start.
There has not been a comprehensive immigration reform changes to immigration and work visa since 1990.

We can’t control our boarders? Comparing May and July of 2025 vs same months 2023 there was a 90% decrease in boarder crossing and detentions.
That not a number to spit at, so the boarder can actually be controlled in a significant manner. So it is possible after all.

So I refuse to accept the notion that we can’t control our boarder. It’s not some intractable physics problem that no one has been able to solve for.
Just as I refuse to accept the notion we can’t fix this and we just have to keep offering up blanket amnesties.

What we have now isn’t good for poorest that are already here. Just as it’s not good for those making the journey.
Want to do the human and moral thing demand the system top to bottom be fixed. How many have died or been brutalized because we “can’t” control our boarder.

We can’t control our boarder, so irregardless of the suffering this causes to those who make the journey, we do nothing?

I’ve watched this cycle of mass illegal immigration followed with uproar then some form of blanket amnesty. And everyone says we can’t fix it.
Except for trying the very things that would likely fix it.

We are making the instability. Maduro will lose power eventually like all dictators, when we act like the world police we destabilize the world. It is propaganda when they claim its about drugs or even kicking Maduro out when our sanctions entrenched him, and there are lots of other countries in South America which have drug production. If we start a war in South America, more South American refugees will come like always when we go and start a war.

Threatening war is not the same as actually starting a war. And our actions have made those wars more likely, not less likely.

This is the time tired old playbook from all of our imperial adventures we have had over the decades and centuries.
