(Reminder the longer the NPP doesn't expend the power it generates the higher the chance of a disaster. As nuclear power plants can't just switch off, those reactors are still very hot even when not sending the potential power to the region.)August 19 - something is expected as new workers would not be allowed to enter the NPP by occupiers
Also russia nuclear agency workers reportedly left #Zaporizhzhia NPP
Probably goals stay the same - make people terrified and stop the NPP from producing power for #Ukraine grid
The shelling of the Zaporizhzhia plant in southern Ukraine has raised fears of a nuclear disaster. DW examines the regulations of the Geneva Conventions, to which both Russia and Ukraine are signatories:
Ukraine actually has much to lose by intentionally bombing the reactor site besides fallout alone. The West should have sufficient satellite and other intelligence to prove who the culprit really is. They would almost surely cut off the flow of weapons if Ukraine is found to be liable. How about the same poll with Ukraine?
Since they are the ones bombing it!!!!
Jesus if Russia was planning a false flag, it's genuinely shameful. Also stupid.
I cannot understand how anyone benefits from radioactive contamination, even Putin.
INDEPTH ANYLISIS:
I've been waiting to chime in here. From what I have read since the story broke this morning. I personally believe Russia is planning for a false flag operation. Or at least was and is now postponed.
Let me explain when I mean "or at least was". Just like when Russia was planning to invade Ukraine many months ago, it was shown that the US publicly announcing the exact date Russia planned on invading push the invasion back by several weeks. Because you don't jump somebody when they're expecting it.
Now with all that said I am hoping that this public leak will deter Russia for at least now or for a short while from carry out a false flag. Because if they did it would be very hard for them to wash it off or blame Ukraine given the recent leak.
THOUGH just like the Russian invasion of Ukraine was pushed down the line due to US publicly leaking information on when Russia intended to do it. Russia still did it down the line. WHICH makes me think more than ever Russia will indeed carry out a false flag attack on the nuclear power plant down the line. Just not today or this week.
Russia's President Vladimir Putin in a call with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron accused Ukraine of attacking the Moscow-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, warning of a potential "catastrophe", the Kremlin said Friday.
An ex-worker at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant shares a stark warning about the chance of disaster. @kileycnn reports:
.@StateDeptSpox: The United States remains deeply concerned about Russia’s military takeover and continued control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. @iaeaorg must be given access to ZNPP as soon as possible to help ensure the safety and security of the plant.
Many workers at the Zaporizhzhia plant were ordered to stay home Friday, Kyiv said, amid growing fears of an attack.
UN chief says Russia must leave Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant - and warns against stealing Ukrainian power
Russian President Putin tells his French counterpart Macron on phone call:
- Ukraine's shelling at Zaporizhzhia power plant creates risk of large-scale catastrophe
- Obstacles on Russian food and fertiliser exports continue
- Agrees with him to continue contacts
RUSSIA SUBMITS LETTER TO UN SECURITY COUNCIL OVER UKRAINE 'PROVOCATIONS' AT ZAPORIZHZHIA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - TASS CITES DIPLOMAT
I really doubt they actually seek to stage a false-flag provocation that has a risk of pulling eventual NATO countries into the conflict or at least totally banning Russia and Russians in all contexts in their nations, but like some analysts are suggesting, essentially creating a diversion for the NPP so they can steal the electricity generated from the plant and then pull out the military presence there and possibly cooperate with the UN to create a DMZ around it all the while they are laughing as Ukraine and Europe lose yet another electrical resource, forcing them closer and closer to an eventual settlement in winter when supplies will be low.Don't worry, it is "mandatory fun day"
Russia thinks their technology and weaponry is superior to everyone when Fisher Price has better build quality. There is no reason to do anything to NPP besides showing your cards and proving the bluff. Trying to fish without bait and not catching anything goes together like GW Bush and vocabulary.I really doubt they actually seek to stage a false-flag provocation that has a risk of pulling eventual NATO countries into the conflict or at least totally banning Russia and Russians in all contexts in their nations, but like some analysts are suggesting, essentially creating a diversion for the NPP so they can steal the electricity generated from the plant and then pull out the military presence there and possibly cooperate with the UN to create a DMZ around it all the while they are laughing as Ukraine and Europe lose yet another electrical resource, forcing them closer and closer to an eventual settlement in winter when supplies will be low.
Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Putin agreed that a team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should be sent to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, according to the French president's office and the Kremlin.
The French leader expressed concerns about safety risks at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Russian-occupied Enerhodar. Russia seized control of the plant in March and is using the site as a military base to launch attacks on Ukraine.
Watch this blow up in the French president's face like it always does dealing with Putin.
