I think our four top priorities now should be:
1: Squash misinformation as we see it
2: Monitor for any indications of a move on Kyiv or deeper into Ukraine than Donbass
3: Monitor China for indications of moving on Taiwan
4: Monitor NATO, the US, and the EU for responses
Why is china more important than watching the us move into ukrane?

Not more territory. More buffer territory. If those people in Donbas think they are anything more than just pawns and canonfodder to keep NATO away from Russia, they are delusional.

And to show I am completely neutral in this, Ukraine is exactly the same for NATO. The West doesn't care about them. Ukraine is just a battlefield so NATO's own territory won't be used.
Yes and no I agree there is a major part of nato that sees it this way. If that was the case what does that say to the three Baltic states, their nato?
And personally for me it’s just like Syria. The US was wrong to encourage the rebel movement in Syria. It’s government was and had been clearly aligned with Russia. Ukraine had made a choice and sought to shift their alliances and in this case it’s wrong for Russia to interfere with Ukraine.
That’s my right and wrong take on the matter.

This is happening now because the US is strategically the weakest we have been since the carter presidency.

I’m surprised that we had the same exact idea on this current situation! In my opinion the best course of action for this situation to simmer down is to do what the US and PRC did about 70 years ago with the Korean Peninsula which is: sign an armistice and establish a demilitarized zone which would be a somewhat effective compromise to this situation.

What and you think this time will be different? They are just 100% puppets with no real independents. Evuatuly be absorbed into Russian territory though it pretty much already is.
@DarkNoon The biggest difference is how much of a trouble would be to revert the decision. Imagine if Russia would have its regime changed. Returning Crimea would require a state-level referendum, while de-recognition of DPR/LPR would require just Duma and President approval. That's why annexations in general are much more troublesome for the world community.

No military movement by USA.
They don't want to intervene military wise.
Yeah, sorry on my side for the last 48: I'm just brain fogged out from going out a few days ago and partying. Yeah I thought that homer21 was more of a movement type of thing. Is it really possible to buzz something from that far away?

KTBS-TV, the Shreveport, Louisiana ABC affiliate is reporting that Barksdale AFB (HQ USAF Global Strike Command) has moved to DEFCON 3 In response to the events in Ukraine.

KTBS has been told from several sources that the alert level for Barksdale has been raised to 'DEFCON 3'. DEFCON stands for 'defense condition'.

Wow that’s a first! They must know something we don’t. Not that the situation is not bad but I think the Baltics are under a threat that they are not telling us about let alone the threat to Poland after the speech that has confirmed to the world that Putin has gone completely nuts since he has been emboldened by China and hanging around his Belarusian buddy too much.

My step son is stationed there. Hope all goes well.

These are big claims, and I can't find any other news source for this. Why would USAF staff even release this information? At this moment in time, there is an information war. Who knows where KTBS got that information. It could have been someone posing as a source.

The authorities of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the Donbass, Ukraine announced that they consider the entire Luhansk Oblast "their" territory, writes the Ukrainian Pravda portal on Tuesday.

Deputy head of the so-called of the LPR's parliament, Dmitry Horoshilov said: "within the law of our republics there are laws on state borders, which clearly state that the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic is the territory of the former Luhansk region."

"Our territory is occupied by Ukrainian troops. I think we must call on Ukraine to withdraw its troops voluntarily," he said, quoted by the Russian agency RIA Novosti.

If this does not happen, he continued, a decision would be made "to bring peace and to restore territorial integrity throughout the territory of the LPR."
