I want to know what is going on the ground in Ukraine. Where are sources for better information. Anything that happens there does effect us here. Politically and economically. I've been seeing news that russia has peacekeeping forces in the separatist regions. I don't think this will be ww3 unless western politicians keep panicking. Keep sharing information please what ever information that is relevant to the situation. Information is everything!
Actual, concrete information on the next major events is unfortunately almost nonexistent. Floating around for over a month:
- a constant flow of info on Russian maneuvers that at any time can be preparation for offensive action or posturing meant to bolster diplomatic positioning, and the only way to prove one or the other is to wait
- politicians making claims and threats that tell the public nothing because nobody can prove what anybody is saying
- announcements that diplomats are talking...about something. Maybe they're making agreements, maybe they're not.
Usage of terms like "BREAKING" in media and social media give the mis-impression (intended or not) that major new public knowledge has been gained every five minutes. It hasn't been gained. What we know is that the US and Russia are squaring off in a Cold War confrontation with Ukraine as their proxy, and each side accuses the other side of causing the problems, planning military ops, staging false flags. Both sides have incentives to lie. Both sides want Ukraine to abide by their designs. Over this process is a curtain so thick with propaganda and noise it's almost impossible to see through, despite the best efforts of people trying to see through it.
Regarding WW3, the risk of that is very low. If you will follow the Director's statements on this matter you'll probably be reassured on this particular risk, and if you follow the staff's commentary you'll see general recommendations to prepare for the worst with supplies and seeing what best options you have for shelter, just in case. Because there is no harm in preparing. But the risk is still low for a global conflict to erupt from this.
Following from what the staff has pointed out, you might look up 'Nuclear War Survival Skills' and download the pdf. Again, just for good measure knowledge acquisition.
