This is probably going to get spun off into its own thread, but what exactly did Alex Jones do that warranted a billion dollar judgment?
He made some baseless claims. He's a conspiracy theory idiot. In other words, he is no different that a lot of other people who spew baseless claims.
He has the right to spew conspiracy theory that he believes in. And he did believe it.
So what exactly happened to the petitioners that warranted such a judgment? Their feelings got hurt? They were hounded by those who believed Jones' lies? That is on those who did the hounding. Did Jones tell them to go hound them? (I don't know. I didn't follow this.) Was he the organizer?
If we fined people for inspiring people to do illegal things, the Democrat Party would have been in bankruptcy decades ago.
As we've said before, free speech makes it easy to spot the idiots. But how does it warrant a billion dollar fine?
