Yes there is. Don't be lazy people. Twitter gets all its information from media outlets. Is it that hard for people to flip through websites like Fox, CNN, CBS, BBC, Washington Post, ect.
However will we find a centralized place to find all our news?!? theres definately not one in our web browser, phone notifications sometimes, our pcs side bar, our phones search section.... or maybe something that has a news section for specific search phrases. Maybe we would call it a googol? I'm sure that twitter will have reports of a nuclear blast well before the news picks up on the biggest news stories ever!

This is my point. Plus the vast majority of sources in these threads are Twitter posts 🤷‍♂️ I well remember the days before Twitter, the internet, and mobile phones. Getting news back then was shit.

Google news app or via browser is perfect and has built in advanced search options that only shows you news articles.

Google news is much better imo due to the advanced search options that gives you all relevant news sources pertaining to your search.

How do you think I find all the sources not from twitter I post in report thread which is many. I try to go our of my way and post none Twitter sources more.

No it doesn't. Some information comes from media. A great deal comes from people who are doing their own reporting, and they have no outlet that has the audience of Twitter.

Who get their information from media outlet and reshare it in their own words.

All those twitter accounts posting information are just repeating what they read or see on the media.
Media landscape is changing. Media gets their information from people these days as well. Now these people have the ability to report on their own and not be gatekept by the media, thanks to wide-reaching Twitter.

That's actually what I was doing before I joined up here.
Admittedly, it may not have been as convenient as what Twitter has, but it felt informal enough.
(With the added bonus of not having to see some of the insane reactions that some of the people of Twitter have to current events nowadays.)

Social media has almost bankrupt most news org of foreign journalist.
And yes there is quite a bit of original source posting on Twitter. Journalism of 15 to 20 years ago is dying.
This is good and bad. You get a much wider perspective on how the world is seen. But verification is always a challenge and we must be cautious.
But that’s true with established media as well today.
EVERYBODY has a dog in the fight today

More staff being laid off and even more expected down the line. Not sure how many more employees Twitter can get rid of before it crashes.

Many users have already reported technical glitches and the next layoffs will be more IT jobs within twitter...

Alex Jones request to be unbanned from Twitter denied. 🥰👍😘

Severs him right. He deserves a fate so terrible for the pain he has caused these grieving parent's who senselessly lost their young children.
Not to mention unbanning him would mean Twitter loses the last LITTLE bit of advertisers they have left. 💁‍♂️

This is probably going to get spun off into its own thread, but what exactly did Alex Jones do that warranted a billion dollar judgment?

He made some baseless claims. He's a conspiracy theory idiot. In other words, he is no different that a lot of other people who spew baseless claims.

He has the right to spew conspiracy theory that he believes in. And he did believe it.

So what exactly happened to the petitioners that warranted such a judgment? Their feelings got hurt? They were hounded by those who believed Jones' lies? That is on those who did the hounding. Did Jones tell them to go hound them? (I don't know. I didn't follow this.) Was he the organizer?

If we fined people for inspiring people to do illegal things, the Democrat Party would have been in bankruptcy decades ago.

As we've said before, free speech makes it easy to spot the idiots. But how does it warrant a billion dollar fine?

I’ve noticed no technical issues and it’s actually kinda nice on there.
I can find a pretty wide spread of viewpoints. Though I haven’t gone looking for them I’m seeing nothing of overtly racist or homophobic.
And I still see the “cursed by Medusa” Steven King from time to time and take the opportunity to make fun of him.

We will see I would not revel in the fall of Twitter just yet. It certainly could happen.
Musk it a combination of Howard Hughes and John Galt.
He’ll either open some new doors or he will crash the bloody system.

Oh I agree, I did not follow his sandy hook claims to much. There was many purported anomalies.
And they had every right to sue him if it was truly slanderous.
A 900 billion settlement won’t stand, it is beyond any just compensation.

Yes there is. More then ever before! Lololololololol
Well you must have a different feed history from them I haven’t seen one in quite a bit. I block or mute them and gee I don’t know I guess I just lived a charmed life. Works for right wing fascist and liberal activist both ways.

Finding Twitter A LOT more inclusive recently. No performance issues at all, and a bit of humour from the new owner. By all accounts engagement is up , Musk has put a strong focus of removing child abuse material that has plagued the site for 10 years. That alone is worth 44 Billion dollars.

This all reminds me of back between Libya and Syria. There was a huge uproar to get gun advertising off Facebook. But you could search out middle eastern and African users and find Russian crew serve weapons advertised. The matrix is actually a reasonable analogy to to todays world.
Nothing is is seldom what it purports to be.

What about this guy? I think what he did was worse! He is an actual pedophile walking around free. He's a biden right!
