If you have 51 the President can do anything he wishes. The house can impeach (like an Article 31 or Grand Jury indictment) all day long, back to back.

The Senate can either vote to recess, they could vote not to hear the case and they could vote not guilty.

See 51 votes and the President can Ignore any treaty all week long 24/7

You missed the it’s a legal and political aspect that has never been tested.

I’ve always assumed he can’t formally withdraw.
That said the governmental institutions that interact and implement policy regarding treaties are all part of the executive branch. The president has almost complete control of how hard or engaged the relevant agency works to do what congress says.

Our constitution is and has always been a grey area document. That is because they knew politics always trumps legality.
Presidents of both parties have openly disregarded spending bills for say military aid to Ukraine. Which Obama ignored for three years.
If the political will is there it’s just the way it is.
Now you and others are free to argue in opposition. And potentially change the political will in the direction of you want it to go.
But irregardless it is not a black and white issue where the rubber meets the road

Didn’t say it was legal. Just said a president that cannot be found guilty cannot be removed. That leave him/her free to ignore anything they wish. Law enforcement answers to the President (executive branch) not Congress or courts. So again what is anyone capable of doing to alter the presidents behavior?

Has to be an impeachable crime, not authorizing military aid to Ukraine is not a crime.
Until his actions become so counter to the public will congressional representatives will consider actually impeaching and removing him. That’s what congress did to Lincoln’s VP.

Nuance: anything the House decides is impeachable is. The Senate is the adult table where the stupid shit is supposed to die. Doesn’t work that way but <shrug>

Not doing a military action can not be considered an inappropriate action. Now doing a tricky Dicky like Nixon did with Cambodia is a different story and we know how well that turned out for everyone. Ironically Vietnam, the enemy and a communist nation, had to move in and clean up the mess made by the US government. History is funny (not in a humours way though)

And consider how bad that got AND he was the most popular successful president of all time.
Only Reagan had a comparable margin of victory at the polls and he was almost sidelined by doing the whole thing”tricky dick two step” around Congress and a foreign war. (My little piece of history. The CIA and the DIA were helping us and the DEA and the FBI were trying to stop us… good times.
