These are no Polish Troops, these are German Units. Maybe on a way to exercise. Given to the Blue Flags, this is in Germany
Little Correction: Might be in Poland, we have Patriot Units on the Polish/Ukrainian Border. The Streetsigns are not the usual German ones. So it's actually Poland or Lithuania.

This is all coordinated. It is no coincidence that 10+ drones ALL malfunction and fly into NATO airspace. Not only that but this happens on the same day as Zapad-2025 Russia-Belarus exercises near the Polish border.
It's not exactly true; the active phase of Zapad-2025 is not scheduled to begin before Friday.

In the "interesting timing" department, I'll add that two months back Russia suddenly announced that its ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreev (incumbent since 2014) would be recalled this September. No specific reason was cited.

From what I read the troops are ready they just need the go ahead to begin the exercises. But yes true it does officially begin on Friday.

With large-scale military exercises it's never entirely accurate to state that they occur on any specific date.

There's a buildup phase - which often lasts months; there's an active phase, where troops are actually performing simulated combat tasks; and then there's a drawdown phase where troops return to their permanent places of dislocation (or proceed to invade the Baltic States, as the case may be). Moreover, an exercise such as this will typically be augmented by numerous additional exercises, which - on paper - look like separate events, but in practice are intended as part of the big show.

In the case of Zapad-2025 the buildup was already in evidence in early summer, with Russian troops arriving in Belarus and various ancillary command staff/civil defense/other exercises being carried out.

Bottom line: it's more accurate to think of such exercises as a bell curve plotted on the time axis rather than a timestamp.

Yes, absolutely - I’m trying to say that the equipment and the men are already there. The only thing pending is an official “Go on” and the date of Friday.

NATO says the Russian drone incursion into Poland is not an attack — even after NATO and Polish jets shot them down.

A NATO source told Reuters the strike was likely intentional, but won’t be treated as aggression. Poland and EU leaders condemned it. NATO won’t.

Why wouldn’t Putin just stroll into the Baltics, like right now? NATO won’t lift a finger, let alone agree on a plan. The alliance is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Be honest, has Putin already won? 🤬😓

NATO can’t treat deliberate cross border drone incursions as weather. Each “violation, not an attack” lowers the cost of probing the Alliance and invites more. First it was a one and done once a month deal, then weekly, then daily, now a massed wave routed via Belarus in a single night. That’s not noise it’s a campaign to normalize incursions, soak air defenses, and desensitize the public while staying just below the Article 5 threshold. The answer isn’t retaliation against Russia but it can’t be rolling over, either.

Shadow and “shove” Belarus state military aircraft that crowd the space, and park a standing NATO maritime IAMD package in the Baltic. None of this fires a shot across the border but it changes the economics and the psychology. Stop treating deliberate incursions as weather NATO! Deny them, document them, and make the next attempt costlier than the last.

If Russia doesn't get the message then NATO must go on the a-symmetric war footing and start targeting with cyber/electronic attacks against Belarus and Russian targets where these attacks originate from to really get the point across. Simply put do somthing, anything, or just give the Eastern Flank of NATO to Russia now and spare us the drama.

I'd say this was a threat from pre-2022. Putin can't win the war he already has even with tapping into strategic reserves of men and material. Even if he decided to start a conventional war front somewhere else, he doesn't have the resources to push anywhere.

I think they could take the Baltics, but not Poland.

Yes, but they won’t be fighting Ukraine forever. When it’s over, they’ll have a primed war economy and it won’t take much, or long, for Russia to regroup.

If Putin could end Ukraine today, then for sure, I'd say the Balitics could be threatened in a few years as the missile and artillery and manpower inventory is stockpiled once again.

Armor and aircraft production though seems to be seriously lacking. The T14 hasn't been built in any serious numbers and I am unaware of older tank production restarts. Same goes for fighter aircraft, PAK-FA's.

In Febuary 2022, I seriously thought he was going to capture Kiev in 3 days. He failed pretty spectacularly in that. His logistics were and are a mess.

I'm not seeing Russia roll anywhere until at least 2035.

Don’t forget once the war is over Russia is still going to have to devote massive resources to protect a hypothetical DMZ so an opportunistic Ukraine doesn’t decide to retake everything.

I’ve contemplated how I feel about this since I went to sleep last night. First I’m glad NATO actually shot them down and I legitimately don’t think the kremlin expected them to do so. Second I think the more dangerous scenario than calling this a “violation not an attack” was to invoke article 5 and for the alliance to vote no and show no unity in the face of these hybrid war acts. Third as long as NATO makes some kind of legitimate response in the form of sanctions they otherwise refused to implement or a very large arms delivery I don’t call it a failure yet. I’m glad they decided to actually invoke Article 4 and I’m hoping that we’ll see a concrete response from this.
