Hanover. Neptune Energy is currently developing a lithium extraction project in the Altmark Region (Saxony-Anhalt). In August 2025, the company commissioned the international and independent valuation agency Sproule ERCE to determine the resource base for the project (CIM/NI43-101 standard). As a result, the experts defined resources of 43 million tons of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE). This means that one of the world’s largest project-based lithium resources is located in Northern Saxony-Anhalt.

Washington offers Baykar to localize drone production in the US:
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Washington had asked Baykar to open production in the United States.

This was reported by the Van Postasi Gazetesi publication , citing a speech by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in New York.

As Turkiye Gazetesi notes , this request is consistent with recent analytical reports submitted to Congress, which portray Baykar's Bayraktar TB2 drones as a symbol of Turkey's regional deterrence.

Two reports submitted to the House of Representatives highlight Turkey's role in NATO, its strategic location in the Black Sea region, and the growth of its defense industry.

Turkish-Ukrainian defense cooperation is highlighted as a critical issue. Although the Ukrainian Baykar plant was targeted by a Russian attack in August, this has not weakened the strategic partnership between the two countries. On the contrary, according to the report, cooperation in areas such as unmanned aerial vehicles, engine technology and corvette production has deepened.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the most critical focus in US-Turkey relations is the sanctions imposed on the defense industry.

IN BRIEF: On the afternoon of Sunday, September 28, 2025, pilots of a Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 that landed at "Henri Coandă" (Otopeni) Airport in Bucharest reported the presence of a drone near the airport to air traffic controllers.
The Turkish Airlines plane landed safely on runway 08L at Otopeni Airport at 14:27 local time. However, an air traffic controller instructed the pilots of British Airways flight BA886 from London (UK) to Bucharest to maintain an altitude of 2,000 feet, abort the landing procedure, and fly toward the runway direction.
Subsequently, the British Airways plane and eight other aircraft, including one military plane, landed on runway 08R at Otopeni Airport, which is primarily used for takeoffs.
Forty minutes after the report from the Turkish Airlines pilots, landings resumed on runway 08L at the country’s busiest airport.
Additionally, information obtained by BoardingPass indicates that the drone was located outside the airport perimeter (between DN1 and Buftea) and not on any of the airport’s runways, as some online publications have reported.
NOTE: It was likely a small, commercially available drone, not a military one!
