Spain’s Defence Staff says its Expeditionary Combat Group has begun “Despliegue Atlántico 26,” described as Spain’s largest naval deployment of 2026. The deployment includes 5 ships, around 2,500 personnel, 75 vehicles, 10 aircraft, and 12 amphibious craft.

Czech MoD: Czech AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters will deploy to Poland from June, replacing Venom helicopters. The MoD says this is the first foreign operational deployment of the Viper type, with the unit tasked against low flying targets and supporting Polish airspace protection.

Latvia’s Defence Ministry says NATO’s DiBaX will return to Latvia in Oct. 2026 for its 5th anniversary, with its biggest edition yet across Ādaži and Sēlija military bases. Sweden says training for Polish submariners will begin in Karlskrona in August 2026, following Poland’s selection of Sweden for three new A26-class submarines. Sweden also says plans are underway for Poland to lease HMS Södermanland, strengthening Polish and NATO submarine capability in the Baltic Sea region.

The Czech Armed Forces says its Land Forces are testing service dogs as support for mechanized combat units, a first for this type of operation. The trials included command post security, patrols, suspect searches, explosives detection, terrain tracking, object searches, and operating around gunfire and drones.
