The Israeli Air and Space Force’s 190th “Magic Touch” Squadron occurred this afternoon, as all of its AH-64AI Peten attack helicopters were relocated from Ramon Air Base in the Negev Desert to Ramat David Air Base in northern Israel. The relocation brings the squadron and its attack helicopters permanently much closer to Israel’s northern battlefront and the threat posed by Hezbollah.
The 190th Squadron’s AH-64AI Petens will now operate directly from northern Israel, placing them closer to the potential battlefront and reducing the time required to respond to threats.
IDF statements confirm the move as pre-planned to improve northern response times against drones, missiles, and ground forces based on lessons from recent conflicts, diversifying basing away from a single southern location.
Attached videos show groups of Apache helicopters flying in formation across cloudy skies over urban and tree-lined areas, consistent with public footage of the squadron's northward transit observed on August 18, 2026.
