Projectile sinks Indian-flagged ship off Yemen coast​

An Indian-flagged vessel capsized and sunk after it was hit by a projectile off the coast of Yemen, All 14 people on board the MSV Faize Noore Oliya - 13 of which were Indian nationals - were safely rescued, India's Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.

It is the latest in a spate of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, an alternative waterway that some tankers had been using since Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz in February.

Bank Saderat Iran denies reports of customer account restrictions​

Bank Saderat Iran has denied reports circulating on social media and some news outlets that customer accounts had been frozen, saying all banking services continue to operate normally.

The bank said all of its banking systems remain fully operational and that customers continue to have uninterrupted access to both branch-based and digital banking services.

Iran said it reached an understanding with Oman on the geographic coordinates of a proposed navigation route through the Strait of Hormuz and was finalizing a joint statement.

Tehran said a significant portion of the route would pass through Iranian territorial waters and any transit fees would depend on decisions by Iran’s highest authorities and U.S. conduct.

No final route map, clearance rules, fee schedule, implementation date, operator instructions or U.S. acceptance have been announced. Oman had not publicly confirmed the understanding by cutoff.

UKMTO classified an incident 95 nautical miles southeast of Aden as an attack after a tanker master reported a loud explosion in close proximity at 14:30 UTC.

All crewmembers were safe and no environmental impact was reported. UKMTO released no vessel name, damage description, weapon or attribution.

The Houthis separately claimed ballistic missile attacks on the Saudi tankers Wafa and Daisy but supplied no dates or evidence. Saudi authorities, operators & independent monitors have not confirmed either claimed hit, and the UKMTO incident cannot presently be matched to Daisy.

OFAC removed Fly Baghdad Airlines, its Iraq Express alias & two Boeing 737 aircraft from the U.S. sanctions list.

Basheer Abdulkadhim Alwan al-Shabbani, previously identified as the airline’s owner and CEO, remains designated, with his listing now tied directly to the IRGC Quds Force.

A Treasury official attributed the delisting to significant operational and behavioral changes but supplied no details. The official said it did not represent a change in U.S. Iran or IRGC policy or a concession connected to current negotiations.
