'Fitness' of The President

If Russia were to find out that a launch order was given but was having problems filtering down through the chain of command, wouldn't they immediately put all of their nuclear forces on highest alert status, perhaps even launch preemptively?
Sure. But then, Russia finding out the order was given? That would mean a traitorous mole was in the Administration.

I might be wandering a bit. But yes that's not out of the question when you consider the gravity of the release of nuclear weapons. I can see the most devoted servant of an administration turned by a perceived irrational request to launch nukes from the President. It's dramatic and not likely. But not implausible.

I have not heard this. I did hear that the President made his voice hoarse from yelling on a phone call he made to the Iranians. The author said he was glad he wasn't on the receiving end of that call. I can probably find a quote somewhere if you want.
I don't know if this has anything to do with reports of him yelling at his advisors and being kept out of the situation room or not. All I know is that when I look through the reports of some of these "journalists" you'd think the current administration is the spawn of satan. Article after article of nothing but hit pieces. If they would occasionally write a positive article, it would make me more apt to believe them.
Senator Lindsey Graham said President Trump personally called Iranian officials days ago — and the call turned heated enough that Trump lost his voice warning Tehran what would happen if they kept "playing games."
Trump, asked why his voice sounds different on air: "I've been screaming at the Iranians all day. You know why? Because it's the only language they understand."

I might suggest that if Trump was on the phone screaming at Iranians, then Iran would try to record those messages and make them public showing an irate Trump and declare it mental instability.... It plays domestically to the rally some more to the flag while internationally, Making Iran more sympathetic to some nations recently crossed by Trump.

The fact that they haven't yet suggests he's not screaming at Iranians.

Huge difference between Twitter sources and the Wall Street Journal. Personally, I don't want positive or negative pieces. Just tell me truthfully and without any emotion what happened. I'll make up my own mind as to whether it's positive or negative.

Here's a positive for you: Trump *finally* did away with manufacturing the American penny, which cost more to mint than what it was worth face value. About time.

Or that the order went far enough for visible signs of a nuclear alert to be seen by Russia, such as strategic bombers preparing for takeoff, or member of Congress "disappearing" suddenly and canceling all public appearances.

Any such recording could easily be manufactured by AI these days. Plus, I don't believe he was screaming at the Iranians. That contradicts the "screaming at aides" story, which I find to be much more plausible.

As do I.....

I can bypass most paywalls, including WSJ. Here is an unpaywalled link: https://archive.is/20260419043343/h...ump-public-bravatrumpdo-private-fear-59814dca

This is a legitimate story and should not be ignored.
Then there is this:

I don't know that I would fully trust The Mirror. And I am curious how Trump himself would "use the nuclear codes."

I've tried to confirm this story. There is nothing to substantiate the meeting at which this supposedly occurred even took place, let alone the nuclear codes incident. However, I'm still looking as that is a extremely concerning accusation.

"No credible news source..."

"No credible news source..."
Unverified claims circulating online allege that President Donald Trump attempted to "use nuclear codes" during a meeting on the war with Iran, but there is no evidence to support the allegation and no confirmation from U.S. officials.

Johnson did not provide evidence, did not identify any sources for his account and did not clarify what he meant by “nuclear codes.Newsweek has found no independent corroboration for the claim.

You did read the article correct?

I find it sad that the beautiful story of the US military rescuing a downed airman (airperson) guess that's what I'm supposed to say now, has turned into a hit piece on the President of the United States.

I'm pretty sure that you can't post to social media when you're actually in the situation room. (Could be wrong) I do know that there was a lid put on any press briefing and presidential appearances during the time in question. Now if the president was firing off tweets or truths during that time, I would be more apt to believe he wasn't in the situation room.

I would also point out that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is NOT in the chain of command for the nuclear launch codes. I would think that the an organization like the DWS would know this and address this.

Everything in this thread is predicated upon second and third hand unsubstantiated accounts.
Do better!

Yes, I did. I was merely indicating that I had looked for anything else to indicate this was credible and could not find it.
