Israeli Channel 12: The cabinet meeting on Sunday night witnessed a sharp disagreement over the timing of the military operation in Gaza and whether to implement it before or after Trump's visit to the region.
The officials said the Trump administration isn't pressing Israel at all and made clear to the Egyptian and Qatari mediators that a temporary deal along the lines White House envoy Steve Witkoff laid out two months ago, backed by Israel, is the only game in town.
According to a report by Axios’ Barak Ravid, Israel this past weekend approved plans to launch an extensive operation to “flatten” the remainder of the Gaza Strip and displace nearly the entire population of two million to a single “humanitarian area” in Southern Gaza, if a hostage and ceasefire deal is not reached by U.S. President Trump’s visit to the region on May 15th. Alternatively, Palestinians who do not wish to remain in the humanitarian zone will have the option to be “voluntarily” displaced to another country, in line with President Trump's previously claimed vision for Gaza. The plan, dubbed “Gideon's Chariots” by senior Israeli officials, is seen as a nuclear option which many hope will not be needed, with it aimed towards “completely defeating Hamas”, though it would likely also result in the death of all remaining hostages held in Gaza.
The Israeli Air Force attacked the Houthis in Yemen today. The attack targeted 10 sites in Yemen, including Sana'a International Airport, oil facilities, a power station, and gas stations. Video:
IDF: For the second time in less than twenty-four hours: The Air Force has targeted Houthi terrorist regime terrorist hotspots in Yemen
Recently, the Israeli Air Force completely disabled the infrastructure of the Houthi terrorist organization at the main airport in the Sanaa region. This attack was carried out in response to the Houthi organization’s missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport.
This airport, like the Hodeidah Port that was targeted last night, is used by the organization for the transfer of weapons and militants and is regularly operated by the Houthi regime for terrorist purposes. This is another example of how the Houthi terrorist organization uses civilian infrastructure for terrorist activities.
In addition, multiple main power plants used by the Houthi terrorist regime to supply energy were also targeted in the Sanaa region. The attack on these plants once again shows how the regime uses the Yemeni people and their infrastructure for terrorist purposes.
The “Al-Amran” concrete factory located north of Sanaa was also hit. This factory is one of the Houthi regime’s important economic resources and is used for tunnel digging and the construction of military infrastructure. This attack is a direct blow to the Houthi regime’s economy and military capacity.
All attacks were carried out with great care, in a precise manner, to minimize harm to civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The operation was approved by the Air Force Commander and the Chief of General Staff.
Over the past year and a half, the Houthi terrorist regime has been operating under Iranian direction and financing to attack Israel and its allies, disrupt regional order, and threaten global shipping.
The Israel Defense Forces are determined to take strong action at all distances to eliminate any threat to Israeli citizens.
Power outages are reported in most areas of Sana'a after Israeli airstrikes targeted key power stations in the Yemeni capital, according to local media. This video, aired by Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV, shows smoke rising from the Hazeaz Central Power Station, southeast of Sana'a. Video:
