LA will be fine. San Francisco had and earthquake and litterally burned practically completely down and people rebuilt.
The fire almost certainly will not reach inner LA.

Natural disasters suck, but if LA was going to "die", then Flordia cities must be fossilized

I generally explain my prognostications with a little more elocution. My remark was met metaphorically. Yeah LA will rebuild but it would be better to just let it die. Any city and state government that so badly plans and protects its citizens is already a dying community.

California continues to win the U-haul challenge. This is just like Katrina. Some people will never return. But with property values so outrageously high all the land will be in use this time next year. My 2¢ and pray for the people.
 
Until the wind backs right off , it is a losing battle. Nature dictates fires with wind. Humans and technology has no chance against nature unless wide area burn offs- land clearance are done before hand. Too late now. Best to hope for is lack of wind or wind change direction towards previous fire area.

I don't know about the original fire(s) but apparently subsequent ones have been started by organized gangs looking to loot once home owners evacuate.

It comes down to something very simple here - some people still don't grasp burn ban means NOTHING can be burned and they are not the exception and they will be held accountable for fires. That or arson. I personally think instead of "only you can prevent wildfires" the campaign and signage should be "cause a forest fire, catch a felony" and arsonists who start wildfires should be sentenced to hard labor until they pay off the millions in damages.

There is simply no excuse for not knowing better anymore.

Actually if a death occurs due to said arsonist than life in jail .
