Los Angeles Fires - Reports only

You know in the 93 floods when millions of acre’s of river bottom ground was flooded. The point was made that building homes in flood prone areas was maybe not wise.

The same is said for hurricane prone areas.

Same can be said for earthquake prone areas. You either build constructions accordingly. Or you don’t build cause and effects.

Same can be said of LA basin. They either build accordingly and construct fire mitigation infrastructure or don’t build. Sympathy for those who are stuck there and can’t aford to move. Not for the city planners and officials who can’t do their job.

Sad but true. Same reason people in Atlantis couldn't get flood insurance is the same reason people in fire prone areas have a hard time getting fire insurance.

This is correct and has also been mentioned here on the east coast also as the 4 main reasons. Unfortunately around here we frequently have to deal with all 4. A few years ago while still working we had police come in and advise us of a mandatory evacuation order. We had a practice full of patients and they all had to go. From this community there were very few exits and of course there was a car accident on the main exit so chaos ensured. I imagine it would not be much different to the LA fires.

It was also found out that this fire was started by a bored volunteer fire fighter who had been recorded starting the fire by covert security cameras so that was no: 1. Also had a more recent fire near the lagoons down the road by a stolen car that was set on fire.

At least one was deliberately set by an arsonist who they have in custody.
 
Cutting the political bullshit in this thread off at the knees. You want to post political crap? Take it to the Politics Forum. MSM might love to politicize natural disasters like this, but I WILL NOT tolerate it here.

I will be going through and deleting all politically-motivated posts in this thread. Feel free to start a new thread on how these fires are all the result of {insert party of choice here} in the Politics Forum.

I see anymore of this crap in this thread I'm going to start issuing temporary bans.
 
I just spent half an hour of my Sunday morning responding to complaints and deleting posts that had absolutely no business being in this thread. Some of you need to go take a long hard look in the mirror and see what's staring back at you. I mean that in all seriousness.

This thread is limited to NEWS reports of the fires in California.

Also, this is not either. A federal response to this disaster is expected and part of the reporting.

I’m beginning to notice certain people on this site have a habit of derailing certain threads, almost to stifle discussion, when certain things are said. Mods need to take more notice of these people, and look into where the IP’s are or if they use VPN.

@RiffRaff you shouldn’t have to be babysitting like this. You guys might need to do a government shill audit. Not kidding.
