Nato Members May Send Troops To Ukraine, Warns Former Alliance Chief

"I will limit myself to say that these theses (in preparation for the Paris meeting) imply a number of NATO and EU member states are considering that they will send their troops to Ukraine on a bilateral basis," Fico told a televised briefing following a meeting of Slovakia's security council.
"I cannot say for what purpose and what they should be doing there," he said, adding that Slovakia, a member of the EU and NATO, would not be sending soldiers to Ukraine.

For all we know those troops could be there for training purposes, or providing embassy security etc... It in no way implies frontline fighting.

There will be no American soldiers in Ukraine until Russia kills American soldiers or a Russian attack on an American base (like Pearl Harbor). The USA has always worked this way.

Is Kosovo in NATO?
It’s not a perfect comparison but an article 5 was not used for nato involvement there.
NATO nations can get involved, it’s all a matter of how involved that is.
And what the actual Russian reaction would be.
As well as the subsequent effects it will have on NATO stability.

We can speculate, but it’s above our pay grade.
I have an opinion but I don’t believe I have enough intel to make an informed decision.
Personally say up the stakes and keep pushing

Article 5 is ambiguous and doesn't actually say anything about boots on the ground, but if Russia starts winning too hard then I expect the gloves to come off, at least as far as countries like UK and France are concerned. Even Scholz would probably have no choice, the coward that he is - Russia is, after all, as much of an existential threat to them as it is to Ukraine. Note that the USSR would very likely (and easily!) have conquered all of Europe if it hadn't run into stalwart opposition from the US. This is a point well remembered in European political circles (at least those that aren't in Putin's pocket).

NATO troops are deployed in Kosovo as part of KFOR.

Sure he did never said he didn’t, and Russian was bombing Kiev everyday and unwilling to give on any substantial issue.
So we agree send in the troops and end the war.

Different outcomes? You mean, Russia gives a list of choices and if Ukraine doesn't agree, Russia gets a free pass to invade? Is that how it works?
 
Strange there were no requests from the West for Russia to open safe passage corridors from all the annexed regions of UKRAINE for those populations to leave safely back to safe Ukrainian territory. Nor reports of majority of those annexed populations screaming for help to remove Russian aggressors because the corridors requested were denied. We should just take Zelinski word on the situation without evidence. Sorry I don't recall media footage of said populations leaving in mass with suitcases and bags. We did see it happening from kyiv though. Interesting 😉🤔🧐🤦‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ many of which don't want to return for several reasons I'm sure.😉😏🤷🏻‍♂️

How much were Russians really under threat and how much was propaganda?

Remember, this was the same excuse Germany used.

And last I saw, Russia has a lot of land for those who think they are being persecuted.

Worse. At least in the West you have some independence. Independence in Russia leads to being falling out a window.

At least in the West, propaganda is self-imposed. In Russia, the government forces it on you.
