We are not experiencing any shortages or notable idle lands here (Central LA) afaik any empty fields are fallow. This comes from general conversations at several Co Ops, feed stores and mills. Major complaints are still towards high diesel prices running up cultivation costs. Fertilizer prices are higher but availability is ready and full. Local Food and Fiber: Primary Crops are Sugar Cane with SoyBeans as a cover, cotton and Timber (mostly pulpwood). Livestock: Sheep, Goats, Alligators* and of course various bovines

I have a Farm and Small Ranch and had a Aerial Applicators Flying Service.

* I not kidding. Huge land usage and investments. They are grown in large farm houses
