By getting Congress to pass laws? Um... Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but hell will freeze over before Congress passes a law anyone (any side) wants. 😂
 
Here's a question.
If the US government will be required to refund tariff collection back to importing companies that paid them, will any of those companies refund tariff payments to customers/consumers that they passed on to customers/consumers?

Consider a situation where company X passed tariffs on to consumers, gets a refund from the government and decides to pocket the "windfall". It's an interesting scenario....
 
Will companies that have paid billions of dollars into the U.S. government coffers in tariffs be able to get their money back? The 170-page ruling issued Friday doesn't address this question, while south of the border, giants like Costco have already taken legal action in U.S. courts to demand refunds. Last December, more than US$133 billion was collected in import duties.

It's a great question. As you point out, the Court does not say. I think it was brought up during oral arguments before the Court that refunds will be a messy process. I suspect the Court is staying out of it to let Congress, the administration, or lower courts sort it out...

This is such a demonstration of incompetence and unreliability, that really reached levels that were just untinkable.
All of the deals signed with the partners are now missing the legal/political base, under which were striked.
 
Bessent omitted one minor details (as usual).
The whole Trump's strategy of threatening crippling tariffs to make "deals" was totally depending on the IEEPA.
Sections 232, 301, and 122 give Trump a fraction of the powers he pretended to have, and all come with clear boundaries.

Is the Congress that holds the taxing power in the US, and that can eventually (ie. with the tools above mentioned) delegate part of these powers to the President, under specific circumstances and rules.

@DEFCON Warning System, got a post deleted for dipping too much into politics. Core concept was...a 10% tariff is lower than the average value before the Court's ruling. Can be matched but it takes a lot of effort and more importantly time.

The main thing is all this is a challenge, higher groceries, gas, and hopefully not rent will be all effected by this cause of a " push and pull " effect and this is something i had thought about for a long time. since one mechanism was put into place " nafta act " well how is the current president going to change this? maybe not-maybe he will but its not for the people it will be something else cause maybe things threaten the sovereignty of America and with bad leadership in the past well I'm not sure if any of this will pan out. debt is a major problem, now with repricing gold and silver will it solve anything probably not cause you might see a small dip but it might go back to its current level or go higher.

Simple solution, buy made in USA, When you go to your local store , read the label.
Send the message, if you, stop buying made in China,… or ? then you send the finacial message back to the wallets that control. Kinda hard when ALL profit businesses have left the USA to make stuff to sell to you…
Tarrifs tax the people… oh how we the people have forgotten the 1700’s and history?

No, it's not that simple. Some products are labeled "assembled in the USA," but the individual components can come from several different countries, especially in Asia. As long as large companies don't make an effort to bring their production back to the USA, there aren't really any solutions.
We live in a capitalist world (the West), and large companies will always choose to produce at the lowest cost.

Sorry, multinationals are more powerful than governments.

Lobbies not just multinationals.
Asbestos manufacturers lobbied the government for decades causing thousands of deaths.

If they have been able to do that, labeling a product depending on his origins is a joke for them.
