Trump's Tariff's - Updates

So far they haven't broke the trust with those loans. And the west has been exploiting Africa for centuries. Wouldn't you rather a bully that's actually developing your nation than a bully that actively keeps it down? Not saying China is good, but those nations aren't run by idiots. They chose to accept China's offers for a reason. And African people are people, who can think for themselves.

To quote Wikipedia (yes ik ik, wiki)

I mean, have you heard of IMF loans? They are among the worst loans a nation can get.

While they may eventually come knocking, China has better rep in Africa than the US by far now. A great chunk of the world prefers doing business with China over the west. The west has been hated in Africa for a while.
Yeah that’s an overly simplistic view of Africans preferences of China vs US.
I am not saying the US should and can do better in bilateral relations. We absolutely can.
Given a simplistic preference by nation the US is a preferred nation to emulate.
If only in samplings of youth in Africa does China hold a preferential position.
So like all things in relations among nations it’s a complex and nuanced group of relationships. One that is in no way predetermined.

China is now a developed nation. Not every nation thinks the US way is best. It seems a lot of African countries don't. "Never underestimate your enemy"

Your own article indicates that most of Africa believes Chinese influence is positive, with a similar rate to the US. And that article was also 2023. Things have changed now in 2025. We said, eh, begone foreign aid. Oh, have some tarrifs for the trade deficit that we caused. (Poor nations just can't buy American products and we have failed to make these nations not poor, in fact we actively made them poor).

China has distinctly NOT comprimised it's relationships with African nations. We have.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I said there is not a clear preference for China in African nations.

  • Haha
Reactions: GBS61
WHAT YOU'RE NOT HEARING: The Chinese cannot replace the U.S. market. Without it, the Chinese economy collapses.
he rates won't be maintained long enough to see anything. This whole rate thing is just a sham!
I won't say who's responsible for this whole circus so as not to insult the Gagas....oops, the Magas...Make America great again, red communist cap made in China

Fox News Finally Admits It:

You know what to do. Share far and wide.
F@ck him! He should buy American or at least a none communist dictatorship. So please share it far a wide. That’s the whole point of the tariffs, to coerce buyer into shifting there job killing capital flight contributions.

N.B. Walmart sucks.

Make America Greater, Again!
What I understand from this slogan:
1-Return to God (in 1900 or before)
2-Return to a white America (in 1900 or before)
When it comes to the economy and the military, you are first.

To achieve point 2, Americans will have to work harder.

To achieve point 1, Americans will first have to return to Sunday Mass and follow the directives of the church of the time.
Genesis 1:28 The Holy Bible by Louis Segond 1910 (KJV)
God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth..."

Conclusion: It is likely that the achievement of point 2 depends on point 1.

My Opinion: Impossible

Nope. You missed it. We are ALREADY great. We don’t need to return to anything or time to be great. That’s what the “er” on great denotes. We are great, we can be a greater.

Im optimistic. We can bounce back and forth between parties and still find our way. This last couple have been severe but it’s happened before, just not post WW2. We usually end up better for it. Although 1860 was a b*tch….

This is the type of behavior that turns nations towards China.
You know it’s all how you spin a story
“Nations can avoid tariffs if they just buy US LNG” hint hint black mail or coercion!
or….
“one way for Asian nations to avoid tariffs is to impact their trade imbalances with the US is to buy American LNG and thus avoiding tariffs”

perspective or personal bias seems to have a big impact

This exemption as I read it in the actual customs doc was a temporary exemption to allow manufacturers reasonable time to market products already manufactured in China while they go about the work of moving manufacturing out of China if China fails to go along.

Seems that trip by Tim Cook to mar a lago wasn’t a wasted trip.

If a company is actively trying to find new manufacturing locations it is reasonable to time for those logistics.

Might I suggest you revisit your understanding for what this means then.
1 is it returning to pre 1900 church doctrine to refute any notion of banning g homosexual marriage and what goes on between two consenting adults?
2 continually throwing the “white American” moniker are political challenges just does not stick anymore.
3 return to mass and now to the priest authority and only read the KJB , that a flashy scary bit of hyperbole that gets thrown around a lot

How about we stop using over the top claims of systemic racism or reverse religious intolerance in efforts of fear mongering.

No, I'm just asking for an explanation of what the slogan "Make America Great Again" means to an American.

By the way, it's not racism to want to protect the nationalist spirit of a country, like, for example, in Canada,
the two founding peoples are French-speaking and English-speaking,
and we don't want Arabs to outnumber us, the builders of the country. For the USA, it's legitimate to want to preserve English-speaking white people of European descent, who are also the builders. Unfortunately, many see this as racism.

Make America Great Again
It is the re-elevation of meritocracy to top of the selection pool, not identity or social theory support.
It is the rational re-evaluation of regulatory processes. While still protecting rational and scientific and environmental policies.

The legal frameworks where Pluralism in the country is tolerant to people from any background as long as they support the foundational philosophical legal, economic and religious foundations of the nation. In essence the western political heritage that founded the nation.

Where coercive or proactive legal measure are not frequently used to mold society or force change where change in the majority is not sought.

It is the rebuilding of the American industrial and manufacturing capacity not simply to reclaim some lost industrial past. But to diversify Americas economic and national security needs. Recognizing that this will be a constantly evolving process.

Coupled with this is changes of the tax system where the lowest tax brackets are protected and now as has been stated the increase in tax burden of the top percentages. All with the intention of citizens earnings be liberated from taxes and not dependent on government subsidies.

It also includes the MAHA concerns that encourage and seek health solutions in scientific research and treatments as well as basic medical and mental health common sense solution.
Including everything from the food supply and diets to free and open debate regarding all emerging medical treatments and practices.

You know common sense and not blind conformity to past accepted norms or future prescriptive measures.

MAGA is not perfect just as we now know past america icons were not perfect. It is the adherence to what works and supported by the greatest majority of the people. While also not tolerating persecution of minorities nor the proscriptive protection and subsidies of the minority.

This is my understanding of MAGA, I believe it is fairly accurate.
I also know it will not be wildly accepted by many.

Remember that prior to MAGA there was the Tea Party movement that also had wide social and racial diversity.

MAGA is not a cult of Trump,
It is a grass roots movement of Americans looking to restore the principles that helped make America a successful nation. A nation who throughout its history people of many nations have frequently sought to emigrate to to seek a dream of stability and opportunity.
It has worked in the past and it can work again.

Using the word European broadly in the context of people building the USA is a bit of a blanket statement. An Irishman in 1760 immigrating from Ireland first gen comparative to a Englishman coming to the Colonies with an already established family with connections are in very different class levels. I'd argue the immigrants and slaves that were exploited and actually built our national foundation deserve more recognition and preservation of culture and values than the aristocracy that lingered from the colonial era. Of course that should not diminish those who were in power and sought to use it for good, seeing the clear errors of their society. Some of our founding fathers are better than others.
