Social Media has always been around, but the current vessel we receive it has changed.

It’s magnified the size and reach of the mob and the impact or rabble rousers can have.
So no it’s not the same as it always has been.

While USA NatSec analysts are focused today on the Russia invasion of Ukraine, in the USA the dysfunctional society left behind with a two tier capitalist and two tier justice systems, looks very different to the rest of the USA. The ability to address global wars and international issues continues to depend on addressing internal national issues, which bi-partisan neglaect has allowed to continue to undermine security in USA. Whether our familiy is killed by a Russian nuke or local criminal's bullet, from a security position and humanity issue, it is the same loss. In former industrial and manufacturing areas such as Chicago and Philadelphia: Chicago 17 gunned down since Friday night, and in Philadelphia 14 gunned down on Saturday night. It is accepted as "normal" in USA, and we believe that gun control alone will solve. But the problem is more complex, and the neglect towards citizenry continues to undermine a foundation of globalism and military processes based on a mid-20th century USA that no longer exists.

It is more like 14 million, although it was previously 15 million. It is an evolving number as some have come back in Ukraine.
UN has stated a wide ramge of externatl refuges numbers, the latest being 6 million externatl refugees.
It also has stated 8,029,00 est internal (IDPs) within Ukraine as of May 3.

A 12 million number would look like the typo. As to the political media of NYT, Fox News, etc. anyone who is getting any "news" from these political media organizations should assume that it is wrong/manipulated/misinformation at least half the time.

What would the USA reaction be to a TASS article:

Not comparing the wars, and not diminishing the international violence of the Russia invasion. But with USA media promoiting narrative stories USA soldiers assisting to kill Russians, we have to realistically expect that this will continue to fuel escalation.
