The thing people don't quite get is the Russian's fight in a completely different way and mentality to us westerners. Huge horde armies with high casualties has been their modus operandi for all of recent history. While some may laugh at complete companies being wiped out in the span of days those all fail to realize that in say ww2 they were losing upwards of 1 - 3 million in major battles whether captured or killed. About 5 k a day dead in actual combat. And that was all with a smaller population than thy have now. Other countries taking these kind of loses can not stomach it and would throw in the towel long before. Estimates put the required efficiency of 1 dead Ukrainian to 10 dead Russian for them to have fighting chance in the long war. At best right now its somewhere between 1 Ukr to 1.6 - 2 Rus. Not today but eventually Ukr will simply run out of man power. Especially since a whole bunch of them jumped ship at the start of this. Truthfully if the Ukr population truly hated Rus we'd see more widespread partisan and resistance fighters which so far I personally have heard and seen very little of, personally I believe it is not widespread nor effective at least where Rus control is currently.
There have been 100s of documented partisan attacks and actions, and probably 1000s of undocumented things that we will not hear about till the end of the war. One key fact you are missing is the multitude of lend leases that the Soviet Union utilized to have any sort of combat. Now in an age of precise artillery duels, the russians are outmatched. That's why we've seen so much proof of them having to completely re write their tank Doctrine to utilize them as makeshift artillery. Sure, they have a lot of people and a lot of production value, doesn't really matter if 50% of it is getting blown up by western artillery or sold by corrupt military officials. Yawn. Ukraine is winning. The Russians will crumble like a house of cards exactly like they did in Kharkiv.

Thank you presidents #XiJinping and #VladimirPutin for taking the time to send this message of hope and optimism to the world, For those resisting injustice, poverty, cold, war, jail, humiliation.
So they're addressing all of the people they are trying to genocide?

It seems that the Chinese are playing both sides with these negotiations (at least publicly), However privately they are very much supporting Russia in a significant way.
It's all for show imo. China knows Ukraine will not submit. This is all casus belli for China to form a broader military arrangement with Russia.

The lend leases were only important for the very beginning of the conflict to buy time for the Russians to relocate their tank production to siberia. After that they ended up making far superior tanks in larger quantities to both the germans, brits, french and americans. 50% is not a real number of anything. If it were indeed true the war would be over in 2 days. As for the partisans of course no one has 100% correct data but your claim is probably much further off than wiki's claim https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrai...he_Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine_(2022–present). Taking those numbers at face value would indeed show a very ineffective resistance after 1 year. Nothing has actually shown or proven that right now one side is winning or losing. An unbiased media would show both the Rus/Ukr defeats as well as their victories. But coincidentally in the west the narrative is of Ukr success and Russ is failing completely. That to me shows the reporting is not without bias but instead aimed to change align your view with theirs. Why might the media wish you to believe Ukr is doing so well and Rus so poorly? I'm not sure of the end goal of their propaganda. I find the truth in the middle of the two extremes. Russia is not doing as horrible as we claim nor as well as they claim but neither is Ukr. From looking at both sides I believe a more realistic answer is Russia = not performing as well as hoped but slowly grinding down Ukr which will lead to eventual victory (timeframe of years). Ukr = holding on valiantly but each and every victory becoming more costly, cant keep it up forever.

I am a little concerned that the "kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will collapse" mentality is creeping in and while I do not support Russia I do not rule out the possibility of some form of surprise

Oh lord you just don’t give up do you yingyang.
Bakhmut is a stalemate for Russia they could t take on damn city in five weeks.
That is not winning, it’s treading water.
What happens to their 2nd or 3rd rumored mobilizations.
They dont even seem to possess their actual historic artillery bombardment capabilities anymore.
At best it’s a stalemate right now and they don’t have much of a bench left to pull from.
Edit this isn’t an attack on yingyang just two guys talking.
Actually its been 8 months trying to take that town.

Lets hope the Ukrainians can handle this ASAP. Adviivka is very important, if they loose, they are at risk for an encirclement .
Where are the Bradleys, the world wonders?

IMO:
This kinda of fight is EXACTLY what they were made for: Desperate defenses and calvary screening in rolling terrain and urban combat. They are in country, there are trained crews in country, so where are they? I hope they surprise the shit out of the Russians.

Yes sad really. I don't understand the stupidity of fighting as if ww1 and ww2 with this trench warfare shit. Unnecessary loss of lives and equipment, considering the long range weapons of today . I simply would use land based missiles, air and sea to bombard totally flatten and destroy killing majority of enemy and use boots on ground for clean up crews. More affective less lives and equipment loss, with little resistance.

Then Russia should get of Ukraine and stop its genocide against the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainians are fighting for their very identity and independence. They have every reason to fight to the bloody end and a true/real reason to fight unlike Russia.

Sometimes it feels like Kim 3.0
Like: "If you take a sh*t in the bushes, the reaction will be overwhelming!"
Until something happens :( (let's hope the best)
The worse thing I experienced is the idiot who did the sh*t off the freeway overpass barrier fence. This thing landed on the bonnet and it took me a couple of seconds to realise what it was. I roughly changed lanes and it rolled off.

I think the real advantage Russia has in manpower is the ability to potentially prolong the conflict until the West loses the will to keep supporting Ukraine with huge amounts of weaponry and ammunition, whether that be a result of changes of government or public support for huge government spending on the war in difficult economic circumstances draining away.

I think that’s what Putin is really counting on.
