Russian "war correspondents" sure are getting paranoid tonight. Someone spots a few tanks and they go into full panic mode. This offensive has become quite the bogeyman before it even began...

Reminds me of that quote from Yahtzee Croshaw - "All a good horror game needs to do is hand you a piece of sandpaper and shout encouragement as you vigorously massage your own undercarriage." 😁

it is reported that unknown hackers hacked surveillance cameras yesterday, on May 10, in russia and in Crimea, temporally occupied by russia, and played all of it through speakers on some of these cameras. video, source: UA telegram channel Inform Napalm

I cannot even begin to suss out the object and message of that video. Anyone know what it was about? Anyone?

FALSE
Demonstrable Fact: The Arab sale of oil to the USA has resulted in greatest transfer of wealth in human history.

OPINION

Probably correct though👍🏻

OPINION

Show three (3) allies that the US betrayed and no longer support us. Besides its not the number of allies, its the quality of them. The Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand are all on board with the US along with Japan and The Republic of Korea.
Importantly the all time world champs in infantry warfare, the Vietnamese are on our side. Or maybe we are on theirs. They’ve defeated the Laotians, the Chinese, the French the US and the Chinese again.

IMO
The US is HOLDING the UA back until it’s properly trained and equipped. With M1’s, Bradlys and a well trained force, the only slaughter happening is going to be visit with upon the Russians.

I think there is allot of probing and psychological stuff going on now. You know, We're coming, we're coming! Na not today, that type of thing. It's an age old military tactic. Get in their heads so they don't know where or when the attack is coming.

idk. I think America is holding Ukraine back from pounding the snot out of Russia. Otherwise we'd be seeing a lot more hits on Russian territory.

Could be wrong. Ukraine may also be thinking that such an attack would only motivate Russia to strike harder.

That was Torchers opinion. My opinion was.

I think we're getting off topic. We're gonna get yelled at.

I'm sticking with original belief, should Ukraine make important gains on annexed areas ,atleast especially Crimea. Russia with no doubt in my mind will use tactical nukes minimum as a warning to the west. We will see Russian nuclear forces on alert shortly before tactical nuke use. What happens from there is a western decision. I wouldn't be confident at all in calling bluff once tactical nukes are used. Unfortunately I don't have confidence in the west enough not to continue supporting Ukraine and or their response to de-escalate the situation immediately. In other words confirmation of tactical nuke use by Russia will be my decision to get out of metropolitan area immediately .
Stay in communication range until confirmation of de-escalation , while out of range of targets. Should targets be hit than I'm set for bug out location to live out what ever is left without fear of radiation levels and population. If you believe the west will push Putin to the point of defeat in Ukraine with no nuclear response goodluck. If you trust tactical nuke use by Russia will successfully de-escalate the war I'm 🤞 like you but doubt it enough not to sit tight in hope. For those of you happy to respond in nukes against Russia goodluck. Atleast I have more confidence in my chances of survival than those in the Northern hemisphere. Things may well change dramatically over a short-term period eg.3-6 Months. This year is obviously more dangerous than last and will become more risky should Russia lose enough to not continue on a conventional war.
Ok that's my opinion of my actions and acceptance of possible scenario in not to distant future, I feel some here believe Russia will lose , withdraw and or give up without an escalation in consequences and well each to their own , but personally my natural instinct to survive is strong enough to minimise risk and if I'm wrong great. No hesitation in admitting it. If I'm correct than my life is extended longer than most in a beautiful and harsh environment with access to fresh water sources and the food sources related to them. With minimal human contact risks. Hopefully none. 🤞😅😅😉

Always the eternal pessimist.
It’s not that the message of concern doesn’t come thru in your post.
It’s that gleeful optimism lurks under it.

I appreciate your opinion and unfortunately cannot disagree. Interesting pessimism can point in few directions. I'm apparently pessimistic about human nature and likely worst case scenario i guess your suggestion? Yet I point the pessimism at those who are negative about survival in such circumstances. Could and should is an issue in itself. Some may say most here must be pessimistic if concerned about nuclear war. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤝👍

I’ve “heard” some commentary that it is still slightly too wet for a offensive to launch. At least one that would not be tied to road travel.

This is what we’re looking at.
Russias great winter offensive had enough bodies to keep the grinding going. But make no appreciable gains.

Now will the 8 month long effort of equipping and training Ukraine deliver results.
Western combined arms tactics and logistics traditionally has proven effect agains static line wars. So we’ll see if the west has equipped Ukraine sufficiently. And IF the Ukrainian army as a whole has learned the importance of coordinated combined movements of troops and fire.

One of the problems they had at the outset was their army was very insular in its regions. That will not serve them well if it continues to exist.

A new 'Club of Angry Patriots' is entering Russian politics, threatening Putin

The opposition in Russia with the biggest influence is the "Z radicals", and they also have the highest chance of influencing him or trying to get rid of him altogether.

"Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics"
I just hope, as you do, that Ukraine's logistics are good enough.

Bit too far from the border for UA to be involved. Looks like a two-for-the-price-of-one deal for some trigger-happy Russian AD operator. 👏

Mayhap they're just sh***ing bricks over Storm Shadow and what Ukraine's next move is gonna be...
You know that is very possibly correct.
That will be a double hit in Russia media and domestic front if it comes out they were downed by Russian air defense.,

Just an observation
A forty year old American air defense system taking out a supposed unstoppable hypersonic Russia cruise missile.
What is advertised does not always match real world performance.

Russia was trying to kill a Patriot when the US-made weapon took out the Kinzhal missile Putin claimed was unstoppable

A 40 year old system that has undergone many upgrades over the years.

Absolutely and that is intrinsically part of the difference between the two systems.
The US fields a weapon and never stops improving on it over the course of its life till it’s platform is no longer viable.
Russia launches a new cutting edge cruise missile and it still is not overwhelmingly successful in defeating constantly improved upon older US systems.
We all saw some of the early post from captured Russian systems. They were all still mostly analog. Instead of keeping their entire military systems up today they have relied on single application systems that might or might not have significant advantage as hoped for.
Really what good is a fifth Gen fighter if it does not have the integrated targeting capabilities with the ground or other aircraft?
It’s a difference in philosophies.

Now could a patriot battery survive a dozen Kinzhal’s incoming? Maybe not

But it just shows that in the face of lauded Russian or Chinese weapons the US has kept 20th cent tech relevant in the 21st century.
