Surely Putin isn't setting foot on American soil ( Alaska) for a meeting with Trump?
I have no clue how they will spin not arresting him. Aside from the obvious suicidal act, how do you pressure other nations to then enforce warrants?

I guess they could, temporarily make it a extension of the Russian UN mission?

Everyone in the world is SUPPOSED to be free to come and go to the UN.

Hasn’t really been tested yet. I waiting to see if the Chinese get to stay in NY during our next dust up. (I vote yes)

The current Chinese Communist Dictator and his Regime were not recognized during the Korean War.

Do we kick Major Powers (read Nuclear) out of the USA during war? Anyone gots a legal degree (Jurors whatever) on the wall and can answer that?

Yes I honestly can't believe Putin himself would trust or risk it. Then again would America risk it? It looks like a bad situation either way. I am truly seriously shocked. Be funny as fuck if the door opens on Russian plane and instead of Putin Medvedev steps out 🤣😂🤣 actually it would be funny as fuck if Putin does and after meeting goes back to Russia. 🤣😂🤣 all these poor Putin haters here , I can only imagine their pain and frustration 😉🤣😂🤣

Probably have so much security it will look like an invasion :ROFLMAO:

From outside the US it looks like Putin is going to be hosting Trump in Alaska. If you follow the news, it's clear that pretty much everyone is banking (and with good reason) on Putin playing Trump like a fiddle at that meeting.
This statement is true. I was in the UK and France last year and the news on TV was defiantly far to the 👈. The liberal governments in Europe hate anything conservative.
More generally, this has all the hallmarks of a chaotic attempt by Trump to weasel out of imposing sactions on Russia, which he never intended to do in the first place. It's also testament to a complete collapse of US diplomacy - as no self-respecting leader would embarrass himself like that in front of the whole world.
I don't think Trump cares about that in the lest. If he doesn't like the way things are going in the meeting he WILL walk away.

Bohdan Krotevych, former chief of staff of the Azov brigade and a National Guard lieutenant colonel: "Mr. President, I sincerely don’t know what exactly is being reported to you, but I’m informing you: on the Pokrovsk – Kostiantynivka line, without exaggeration, it’s complete chaos. And this chaos has been growing for a long time, worsening with each passing day... A stable line of combat contact, as such, effectively doesn’t exist."

What if Trump tries to sell Alaska to Putin? Anything is possible! !🤣
Well, yesterday he said in a presser that he was "going to Russia" to meet with Putin. And if you watch Russian propaganda outlets, you'll notice they continue to spin the story that the sale of Alaska to the US was illegitimate, and that it's actually occupied Russian land.

Mentally they are both on the same page - Alaska isn't really regarded by either of them as part of the US.

Personally I'd disagree with that, I think the Chinese military has already overtaken Russia. Steamroll was hyperbolic though!
My money is on Russia till ~2035.

China will have time to build back better after their Airforce is reduced to static displays following the “US war of imperialist aggression fighting over the peaceful seeking peoples on Formosa.”

I disagree, to much oil there.

The sale (IMHO) is 100% legitimate. The UN (such as it is) and the World Court has continuously stated about successor Government assuming and incurring the formers debts, treaty obligations & trade agreements.

Unless there was a special clause stating that 107 years after a communist revolution begins the purchase will revert. Obviously it didn’t. Of course Russia was desperate for cash and the USA was set to seize it ah la Russia and Ukraine (only we would win, so the same but different) so I’m going with duress. Who knows.

But oil and fiishing are a huge industry for this country. Food and hydrocarbons…not giving that up.

And this is where the the old Scottish adage comes into play. Possession is 9/10ths of the law.
Rooted in the Roman principle of Uti possidetis, “as you now possess, it is yours.
Kind of like Crimea.

The insanity of the world today that we argue about historic rightful owners of territory defending those who were too weak or incapable of holding on to. Or worse yet no longer exist in contemporary form.

Russians arguing possession, AGAIN based on past Colonial expansion, yet being to weak in the past to hold on to.

Next China will be claiming the territories controlled by the Khan because of tangential asiatic historic ties to the Mongols. Oh wait they already did that with Tibet. Tibet after all is a colony of China today. Just as Taiwan is a colony of Chinas that communist China could not control and “Lost Possession” of.

I know I went far afield there but there’s a point in there about the absurdities of international legal arguments.
Like arresting a leader of a foreign nation you invited to your nation.

Legal statutes or principles between nations are a farce and mostly just tools or convenience or propaganda.

All laws are enforced by guns and bombs. Ultimately so is your speed limit or arming in tow away zones. You do what someone says or the force compliance. If you resist, well the Meter Maid doesn’t arrest people, the call for Armed Officers. (All of these in the USA). Resist the Officers and they call SWAT. Now it elevated to comply or die.

Countries are no different. They start with a string of (repugnant smarmy o2 thief’s) diplomats. Then when words fail militaries step in. They force compliance a the tip of a bayonet (really bad place to be).

In the end while we have a nice shiny veneer of tranquility with places such as the UN (a wretched hive of scum and villainy) and the ICJ in the end it’s a enforced through force or the threat of force. A good Example are Landmines, Cluster Bombs and White Phosphorus (my personal favorite) Most of the world has banned some or all they above.

The USA (Ultimate Super Power, probably able to take on the entire world (and lose but it would leave a mark) said “ umm No” and continues to make very good use off all of them.

China (Super Power, apprentice) excluding the USA, completely ready to crush everyone else except one;
Russia. AFAIK They didn’t even bother to replay to the bans.

Like a fallen angel or punch drunk fighter, they still think they are a super power, but alas they are not. Who know being a Communist dictatorship had a down side. Russia has really shown that she is a paper tiger atm. But still a very dangerous foe (Like a wounded arthritic Bear) the Russians are not on board the Great Liberal Democracy, feel good about warfare, hugging train.

Again by the force of arms they demur.
