Sorry but I’m so tired of this hyperbole. The world isn’t the same as the 30s nuclear weapons have completely changed the game. Russia is not going to invade a NATO country because they managed to capture a small area of a non NATO country. Nor will its military be able to rebuild the massive stock pile of tanks it had prior to this invasion within a decade let alone 5 years. Will they make a move on Moldova or Ukraine again? Possibly but it’s foolish to suggest that Russia, who’s went out of its way to avoid dragging NATO into the war in Ukraine, is going to start a war with them. What a shit show this world has become. WW3 likely in the next 5-10 years based on the signs leading up to WW2.

You'll need a net on that to catch butterflies
If you are Ukraine, you withdrawal from most major treaties and build nuclear weapons as fast as you use to. I believe there is great value in having them as a “Threat in Being”so if your Ukraine what’s your options? Try and make a deal with the hope you can rebuild your army and try to gain some deterrence through international peacekeepers, or keep fighting slowly losing territory hoping for a miracle Russian collapse that isn’t all that likely.
Also Ukraine couldn’t detonate the nuclear weapons they had nor could they have afforded to maintain them if they did. Still no excuse for the signatories not following through on their agreements but the truth is they couldn’t really do anything with them.
This is all well and good except there has never been a coordinated plan to win. The only measurement has been how many Russians die. Like Torch pointed out it’s trench warfare now. Biden and Europe had three years to implement a war plan to win, they failed.Agree. Trump Surrenders to Putin as Everyone Expects, At Least Those Not Falling For Russian Propoganda & Empty Threats, or Blind Cult Following to Trump:

Guess I don't have to eat my words.Me too!!!!! I'll proudly eat every word. But sincerely doubt it. But more then ready to eat my words and have him prove me wrong!
Shit I may even become a republican if Trump actually sticks to our allies and defends Ukriane! Big maybe though. DEFINITELY not holding my breath.

you, eating, key words. yes.Guess I don't have to eat my words.
thats your opinion and no one elses. ok lefty.Reading tweets about Article 5 and I realize that MAGAs don't know that the first (and last) time it was invoked was by NATO after 9/11 coming to the aid of the United States. NATO is a good thing you nincompoops.
The U.S. was the only country to ever invoke Article 5 and receive NATO’s support. After today’s speech in Munich, it may also be the last.
Today, Trump killed the entire Western Alliance. Talk it however you want.![]()
Ukraine also isn’t a NATO member and never was going to be. People can be mad Trump said it but let’s not pretend he’s the sole reason.Reading tweets about Article 5 and I realize that MAGAs don't know that the first (and last) time it was invoked was by NATO after 9/11 coming to the aid of the United States. Couldn’t have said it better myself. I think a lot of people are ignoring the fact Ukraine doesn’t have to accept some hypothetical deal too. If they really want to keep fighting they have that option even if it’s without U.S. support. They’d still have a gorilla warfare force with a limited quantity of weapons on top of what Europe sends them and they could realistically hold on for another year or two if they think it’s better than negotiating. But when the secretary general of NATO and the majority of European leaders for the most part agree the time is right for peace talks that’s a pretty good sign that both sides have pretty much exhausted their capacity to fight for much longer. If you are Ukraine, you withdrawal from most major treaties and build nuclear weapons as fast as you use to. There are still plenty of weapons guys and gals hanging around that use to do just that.
As far as the “outrage”, just stop sending them anything until they pay for it in dollars. Oh wait they can’t. Ok what do they have to trade?
PS Fuck German and their “outrage” that the USA wants paid from here on out. They haven’t cough up enough to be an interest payment on what the United States have sent.
Hell in Ww2 we charged Britain (and they paid) until there was no gold left in their accounts. Then we took land and forever leases on military bases. And Britain is our best friend. Ukraine? Ehhh.
I wanted to kill Russian Soldiers, Destroy their equipment, cripple their economy and tether Europe to us for energy so we have leverage against those that balk at helping when we fight China.
So now Russia will not be a major factor for a couple of generations, EU has cut the cord with Russia, the Nordic countries have now all joined NATO and we have learnt a shipload about post human warfare. Drones and AI abound and we can now accurately gauge their performance.
The ground war has mostly fixed now and trench warfare has begun. There is little to be gained by further fighting. There was a chance last spring for the UA to cut the land bridge to the Crimean but we failed/refused to support the UA fully. Time to end it.
Would you want your kid to be the last one killed in a trench in the middle of nowhere? If we support them now it will probably escalate to NATO vrs Russia. Lots of dying maybe WW3.
Close up shop, come home.
Live.
My 2¢ YMMV
War and Peace ends here.
Sorry.
