ADNOC said two of its tankers were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz Thursday evening. UKMTO separately reported two vessels sustained minor drone damage in what appeared to be the same incident. No injuries were reported.

The UAE blamed Iran’s IRGC, but no independent attribution has been made. Kpler counted 9 visible transits Thursday, up from 5 Wednesday but below August’s daily average of 12.

New testimony from hospitalized crew indicates a second missile struck the Tihamah as rescue operations began during the August 10 attack near Bab el-Mandeb.

Yemeni authorities said three ballistic missiles hit the vessel, killing 4 crew members and 2 government aligned personnel and injuring at least 9. Authorities blamed the Houthis, but no direct Houthi claim or independent weapons analysis has been reported.

The Houthis claimed two drones attacked Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery Thursday, describing the operation as retaliation for alleged Saudi violations of Yemeni airspace.

Saudi Arabia has not commented, and no reliable evidence of damage, casualties or production disruption has emerged. The claimed attack remains independently unverified.

At least four Asian refiners purchased U.S. crude this week as restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz continued.

GS Caltex, Eneos and Taiwan’s CPC each bought approximately 2 million barrels, while CPC also purchased West African crude. U.S. crude exports to Asia reached a record 2.35 million barrels per day in July.

The USS George Washington carrier group crossed Singapore toward the Indian Ocean after leaving Da Nang. Reporting indicates it is intended to relieve the USS Abraham Lincoln, which has spent more than 260 days at sea and has operated in the Middle East since January.

This is a carrier rotation, not a confirmed net reinforcement.
