'Fitness' of The President

No, I don't believe he suffers from mental illness, but the following
reveals his true personality:

Trump and his authoritarian tendencies:

Admiration for leaders with authoritarian methods, such as Vladimir Putin or Viktor Orbán.
Institutional purges: Layoffs within the FBI, the judiciary, and the military are seen as an attempt to eliminate checks and balances.
His confrontation with the Federal Reserve is interpreted as an attempt to control monetary policy.
The deployment of the National Guard in certain American cities raises fears about the use of force against political opponents.
Trump systematically criticizes unfavorable court decisions and regularly attacks freedom of the press.

I had the opportunity to work with 2 of his Vp’ s from Taj, the stories we have heard about for the last 2 terms are consistant with his style,
The media has no clue how much they have actually missed😯 his boardroom and behind scenes antics are epic!

Checks and balances do not apply here the military and fbi are part of the executive branch and serve at there pleasure of the president

His confrontation with the Federal Reserve is interpreted as an attempt to control monetary policy.
Instead we leave control of our monetary in the hands of private banks.
Whose profits can be effect by the monetary they set.
You do realize that Fed is as much a private entity composed of private banks.
They were given the patina of federal an agency. But the central banks can still collect dividends on the banks performance.
The deployment of the National Guard in certain American cities raises fears about the use of force against political opponents.

Dead issue the guard has been called out by other presidents rather regularly.
Just like illegal immigrants. No one wanted to rock the boat when Obama deported 2.75 Million aliens.
But when it’s done by Trump is a constitutional crisis. And myriads of court cases are initiated seeking an Injunction to stop him. Some were blanket injunction designed to stop all deportation nationwide. Which have thus far all been over turned by scotus.

And using the force of government power to punish or compel political opponents to go away.
I’m sorry compared to the CF of Russia collusion and civil cases brought to prohibit from serving.
Or states trying to come up with ways to keep him off the ballot.

That’s real authoritarian government.

by the way how did everyone feel about their democratic candidate for president totally ignore their primary systems
And appoint who you could vote for.

I never claimed Trump had cognitive problems;
Okay, that is a fair point.

I said people respond to that based on political allegiance.
Then let me rephrase. Can you cite evidence that my comment that Trump is not showing signs of cognitive decline is based on political allegiance and not a lack of an observed medical condition?

By the way, do you have any evidence that Biden suffered from cognitive problems during his presidency?
Inability to remember names and events. Motor impairment.

Certainly those are only what can be seen observationally and not from a medical workup. However, I am a retired EMT, and if I saw those signs in a patient, cognitive impairment would be one item on my index of suspicion.

The greatest thing the United States could ever do, is cap the age of elected officials to 65.
I do not agree with this. But then again, I am 70. :ROFLMAO: I do think there should be a public acuity test for any public official over a certain age every year though.

Here on this forum, there are a lot of Trump supporters, some are in love with him, love makes you blind and deaf!
More and more who voted for him (myself included) want nothing to do with the version of "MAGA" he brought fourth this term. And yes, to stay on topic, his "fitness" to be President needs to be examined by a non-partisan group asap.

I’m listening to a podcast and a statement was made that for the last 25 years Iran has had the upper hand in the Middle East. Nothing that any nation has done or tried has moderated or redirected Irans imperial aspirations over the Middle East.

I think this is true. In no diplomatic or kinetic interaction has Iran lost the upper hand in 40 years. And yes they’re actions in the Middle East the last 40 years has been imperial. Iran has been seeking to impose its will over other nations in the region since the Beirut barracks bombing. In Syria, Yemen, and into parts of Africa.
Few I think would argue the west approach and success with Iran has been positive these last 40 years.

With that said IF Trumps approach to Iran has been to take the position of flipping the tables and changing the rules with how we will deal with Iran. Even to the point of not defining what the new the new rules are.

You know kinda like how Reagan changed the rules of the Cold War. Instead of dancing with the Soviets indirectly, mostly. Reagan faced the Cold War head on and very publicly confronted the Soviets. While at the same time launching a concerted military build up. Also very publicly directed at the Soviets. The we didn’t defeat the Soviets we simply out spent them has truth in it.

It might not even be necessary or even beneficial for the US to have stated goals, or at best ambiguous goals. It’s the very direct military attempt to neuter Iran. To make the Ayatollah’s irrelevant. To define the rules as. Be a turd and harass your neighbors and treat you citizens unjustly. We’re not going to invade and get bogged down trying to fix you.
We’re just going to break more of your stuff again.

Now this is just a theory which tries to make sense of the military actions and public statements from US officials.

This is assuming there actually is a goal or definitive intension regarding Iran. A what will Iran look like when we’re done policy statement.
Maybe it’s just to cripple them. Call it corporal punishment, what ever.

It is altogether reasonable to rationally assume there is a goal with Iran.
Intelligent people have had to set down and debate these actions to a conclusion before the first plane ever took off. Our government, laws, and constitution provide too many off ramps to prevent a single person (the president) from blindly starting a massive bombing campaign of another country.
This successfully nullifies the questions of a single individual with restricted mental abilities driving the nation off a cliff.

There are too many anti or reluctant interventionist in Trumps administration. His DNI VP being the most outspoken.
Both of them have shown no fear about speaking out against US use of the military.
So it’s also reasonable to assume a convincing argument was made to start all this to those two individuals at a minimum. Remember there is a tenuous fracture line in supporters for Trump regarding US military intervention. Fully a 1/3 of his supporters are rabidly opposed to starting a new wars. I’m one of them.

Again it is just a theory trying to put a face on the pig you might say.

And before anybody responded with why don’t they just say this?
Defining the rules has been part of the problem. It’s doing the exact same thing we’ve done for 40yrs.

When clear rules are made your adversary knows exactly where and how far they can push and antagonize you.
In not stating what the rules or behavior are expected of you.
Iran will not have those boundaries or redlines to test. They will just have the memory and results of what happened the last time they pissed people off.
It’s street justice.
When governmental order and voluntary compliance with that order are gone. Either in a small town or internationally.
Street justice is all your left with
In Vietnam some US military aircraft would fly the same routes every day and wonder why they were getting shot down. In this current conflict the planning and outcome is ambiguous on purpose I believe. President Trump has pretty much said as much when reporters ask questions about US plans with his response of "Why would I tell you what our plans are."

More and more who voted for him (myself included) want nothing to do with the version of "MAGA" he brought fourth this term. And yes, to stay on topic, his "fitness" to be President needs to be examined by a non-partisan group asap.
Stop the war! Let Iran have nukes. After all Isreal has them! Right!

You have me curious now. Care to share?

Israel can take care of itself, as can any other middle eastern country.

I just want my tax dollars to pay for taking care of THIS country, not Israel, not Saudi Arabia, not Qatar.

We got a war with Iran before a border wall, before DOGE checks, before draining the swamp, before Epstein accountability.

We got a war with Iran before a border wall Last I heard ille, gal immigration through the southern boarder was next to zero. before DOGE checks, how much fraud are they finding in various states like California and Minnesota just to name a couple, before draining the swamp, voters are going to have to help with this, he is doing what he can. How many lawsuits have there been now trying to stop ANYTHING he does, before Epstein accountability. Remind me, how many pages have been released now? Last I heard I think it was over a million and congress has the opportunity to read all of them unredacted.

Stopping the flood at the border is about the only thing Trump has done that he actually promised. Outside of that, what do we have? Targeted raids with media present to give the impression that people are being deported. Have there been raids? Sure, but not nearly the numbers he promised, and then walked back to say it was only for criminals.

Yes, DOGE found fraud.... That was the point... Where are the checks he promised? I haven't gotten one yet. Pretty sure you haven't. What about the money from those wonderful tariffs? Yeah, no check there either. Oh but we do have folks in Trump's own cabinet like Howard Lutnick putting bets on the tariffs being overruled so that he and his family can get richer off the ruling. I wonder if Trump did that as well. Hmm....

You mean the Epstein files that were redacted? Those files? The ones Thomas Massie forced through and then is getting primaried because of it? The Thomas Massie that has an American First score of 95% BTW, yet RINOS, like the ones depicted by your little graphic there, including Lindsey Graham, get supported by Trump like he's the greatest man in America.

So again, Epstein accountability? Zero.
Border wall? Not happening.
Mass immigration arrests and deportations? Not happening.
Doge checks? Not happening.
Tariff checks? Not happening.
Better American infrastructure? Not happening.
Ending H1B manipulation? Not happening.
America First policies? Not happening.

But you want to know what is happening?
Higher gas prices.
Higher prices at the grocery store.
Tax dollars paying for wars for other countries, that benefit other countries while us Americans are told to sacrifice.
American troops coming home in boxes for NOTHING.
Politicians manipulating the market for their gain, particularly on Sunday nights during the Iran war (oh, military operation, ala Russia).
Tech jobs being flooded by H1B manipulators.
Billionaire Tech bros taking over everything.
Property taxes exploding.

What part of any of that is America First?

The fact that Biden had clear signs of advanced dementia doesn't mean that Trump doesn't suffer from dementia.
One has nothing to do with the other.

I have not seen any signs of dementia from Trump. Of course, the early signs can be so subtle that only those close to him would know.

But if Biden didn't qualify for removal under the 25th Amendment, Trump certainly doesn't.

People can like the guy or hate the guy, but at least use the same standards on him that were used on the last one.

Biden did qualify for removal under the 25th amendment and should've been removed forthwith.

I feel that neither man has the mental sharpness or the temperment to navigate this country through these acute crises.

Just look at how Trump keeps giving contradictory statements about this war, sometimes in the same press conference. It's easy to see that he is having trouble staying coherent. Maybe he's not so far removed from reality as Biden was, but nevertheless, it is hard to deny that he has difficulty maintaining a coherent thought process.

I always took it to him being a berzerker. He doesn't give the impression that he has forgotten. Only that he doesn't care what he has said in the past. He seems to live in the moment.

Not trying to say that is something good. Just not a medical issue.

I do not agree with this. But then again, I am 70. :ROFLMAO: I do think there should be a public acuity test for any public official over a certain age every year though.
Who administers it?
And why would we subordinate the will of the people to handful of doctors?

It’s convenient to use it now.
