The involvement of the US nuclear potential in military exercises around North Korea affects Russia’s interests, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said during a Security Council meeting. Nebenzya noted the militarization of the region with direct involvement of Washington and other NATO member states, "located tens of thousands of kilometers away from North Korea."
"In this context, it is obvious that, in the past years, sanctions failed to contribute to the achievement of the goals, set by the international community, and have not led to normalization of the situation around the peninsula. This situation does not encourage dialogue, especially after Washington demonstrated unfair play for the entire world to see," the Russian diplomat concluded.
On March 28, Russia used veto power to block the US draft resolution on extension of the mandate of the UN Security Council 1718 Sanctions Committee that monitors the implementation of sanctions against North Korea.

Would like to know exactly this Russian diplomat sees happening now that isn’t different than the last fifty years.
And would like to have hear his defense of soviet and Russian missile and nuclear technology to the DPRK and its impact on the proliferation and militarization of the region.
Maybe it’s no wonder the region is still a hot spot after all these years. In spite of efforts to alleviate the tension.

South Korea set to launch second military spy satellite in the US
South Korea will launch its second domestically made military spy satellite in the United States next week, Seoul’s defense ministry confirmed Friday, in its latest move to better counter nuclear-armed North Korea.
The announcement comes after Seoul in December confirmed the successful launch of its first military spy satellite, which was carried by one of Elon Musk’s SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets.
The latest developments intensify a space race on the Korean peninsula after the North launched its own first military eye in the sky in November last year.
Local reports saying the launch is scheduled on April 7 in the US are “correct”, a spokesperson for Seoul’s defense ministry told AFP Friday, adding more details will be shared next week.
Seoul’s second spy satellite is set to lift off from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida, also on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.
Its first satellite has transmitted high-resolution images of central Pyongyang to the authorities in Seoul and is expected to commence its full mission stages as early as June, according to Seoul’s Yonhap news agency.
Seoul plans to launch a total of five spy military satellites by 2025 to better monitor the North.

I think this headline is a more realistic....

South Korea apparently did make the spy satellite itself though, well done...

North Korea has conducted a test on a “super-large warhead” designed for a strategic cruise missile, state media reports, adding that it also launched a new type of anti-aircraft missile. “The DPRK Missile Administration has conducted a power test of a super-large warhead designed for ‘Hwasal-1 Ra-3’ strategic cruise missile”, KCNA news agency reported on Saturday, referring to North Korea by an abbreviation for its official name – Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
North Korea also carried out a test launch on Friday afternoon of a “Pyoljji-1-2”, which state media said was a “new-type anti-aircraft missile”.
KCNA added that “a certain goal was attained” through the test without providing further details.

North Korea on Monday test-fired suspected short-range ballistic missiles into the sea, the country’s neighbors said, as speculation swirled that it could soon launch a banned satellite into orbit.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the weapons launched from the North’s capital region flew about 300 kilometers (185 miles) before crashing in the waters between the Korean Peninsula and Japan. The ranges suggest the weapons could likely target sites in South Korea.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff strongly condemned the launches, saying they were a “clear provocation” that threatens peace on the Korean Peninsula. It said it will maintain readiness to “overwhelmingly” respond to North Korean provocations in step with its military alliance with the United States.

North Korea on Thursday criticized the United States, Britain and Australia's move to expand their AUKUS security partnership to more countries, warning that the move will only turn the Asia-Pacific region into a "touch-and-go nuclear minefield." Earlier this month, the defense chiefs of the three AUKUS nations issued a statement noting their consideration of Japan as a partner for advanced military technology fields in their trilateral AUKUS security cooperation.
"It is the sinister intention of the U.S. to make Japan... a crewmember of a confrontation ship called AUKUS and put it at the outpost line of the anti-China pressure and push the nuclear minefield in the Asia-Pacific region closer to China," Kang Jin-song, an international affairs analyst, said in a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency

📢 South Korea has reportedly obtained intelligence of North Korea preparing terrorist attacks against South Korean diplomatic officials and civilians in several countries.
North Korea has reportedly deployed agents to increase surveillance operations against South Korean embassies and to start specific activities.
South Korea believes that the agents are looking for South Korean citizens so they can be specifically targeted.
In response, South Korea has raised the terror alert level at five embassies.

The Australian government said Monday that a Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force fighter jet released flares dangerously close to an Australian Defence Force helicopter over the weekend. The PLAAF jet intercepted the Royal Australian Navy MH-60R helicopter attached to HMAS Hobart in the Yellow Sea and "released flares across the flight path of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) helicopter," the Australian government said in a statement.
The Australian warship was in the area in support of Operation Argos, which is aimed at enforcing sanctions on North Korea.
