You’d be surprised. She’s already making government policies alongside her brother, she is seated next to him, or stands in for him at events/meetings. She is as beloved as the brother.

I see where you are going with the female thing, but the people are so indoctrinated that they see the Kim dynasty as Gods almost. By extension, the sister is part of that dynasty. I think if the military leadership backs her, and holds a NK style military parade in her honor, the people would accept her, yes.

North Korea is also progressively (albeit slowly) attempting to find a place on the world stage. Despite the reclusiveness, and the subjugation of their people, it would be foreseen that the Brother’s final wish would be peace for the peninsula. He loves his people, he has cried at speeches to his people. They key to NK being accepted by the west, might just be a female leader….

His bomb program could have bought tractors, fuel, fertilizer and food. had he done that, Im certain the Mennonites would have swarmed him with thier food for peace programs (if not them someone.)

I weep for these brain washed starving people. I would kill them if they crossed the DMZ but would feel sad about it.

Look at it from his view. Tractors, fertilizers, fuel, all of that means nothing without security. His nuclear program ensures the continued existence of North Korea. The west has to respect NK now. That is worth more than tractors, fuel, fertilizer, and food.

I get your sentiment, but the world doesn’t run like that. Honestly, knowing what you know now today, would you trust the UN either?

That whole story is interesting. If the recruiters were just a bit more observant that many of the workers literally had Asian stock office worker pictures they could have done a reverse image search to check. They (the workers/spies) weren't even smart enough to use an AI tool to prevent the reverse image search either.

To clarify, AI tool to generate convincing enough portraits that wouldn't be found on a reverse image search.

I jumped ship on an uni IT-security program and switched to a web programming one because the math was too tough and the fact that it was in the middle of the pandemic, but I have a feeling that it'd be disgustingly easy for people to get a job in that area if I had managed to pass the math courses if incidents like this keep happening.

The looming nuclear threat posed by North Korea isn’t being talked about much by either Republicans or Democrats ahead of the Nov. 5 elections, but Seoul’s Unification Minister Kim Yung-ho said he hopes that, no matter who wins, the issue gets more attention after the U.S. elections.

“The Democratic and Republican parties did not mention denuclearization of North Korea” in their recent national conventions, Mr. Kim said. “However whichever party comes in, there will be a North Korea policy review … During this process we hope there will be a mention of the complete denuclearization of North Korea.”

Analysts have insisted for years there is no possibility that North Korea will abandon its nuclear arms programs — programs in which the state has invested valuable resources while triggering painful international sanctions.

Some say it is time to be pragmatic and switch to arms-limitation talks. Mr. Kim didn’t agree.

“If we recognize North Korea as a nuclear state, there will be regional instability and a ‘nuclear domino effect,’” he argued. He warned that could lead to the “fall” of the global nuclear nonproliferation treaty.

Seoul’s stance remains a call for the “complete denuclearization of North Korea,” he said, adding “we will work closely with like-minded allies” toward that goal.

North Korean television published footage of Kim Jong-un visiting a kamikaze drone test

According to the report, Kim Jong-un called for increased production of this type of drones to equip the North Korean army with them as soon as possible.

In the footage that North Korean propagandists tried "so hard" to blur, a kamikaze drone that looks suspiciously like Russia's "Lancet" drone can be seen.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un vowed to redouble efforts to make his nuclear force fully ready for combat with the United States and its allies, state media reported Tuesday, after the country disclosed a new platform likely designed to fire more powerful intercontinental ballistic missiles targeting the mainland U.S.

In a speech marking the 76th founding anniversary for his government on Monday, Kim said North Korea faces “a grave threat” because of what he called “the reckless expansion” of a U.S.-led regional military bloc that is now developing into a nuclear-based one. Kim said such a development is pushing North Korea to boost its military capability, according to the official Korean Central News Agency.
